John Kerry (and Edwards) decided to make a completely classless move and start a speech just minutes after Bush was finished speaking. He is cratering.
"And now that the President is Finally finished his speech, I have 5 words for America, 'This is your wake up call.'"
Ain't that six words?
oooooh I might vote for him now.
I'm not sure what is more pathetic... That line or that the crowd cheered it.
Update I'm going to live blog it.
4 words on Bush speech: "All Hat No Cattle." Rebut: All Hat No Cambodia
They are blowing it. Both Senators are viscerally angry. That might fire the base but it looks anything but Presidential.
Now Kerry is taking off after Bush and Cheney BIG TIME. "5 deferments vs 2 tours of Duty" (4 months is 2 tours of duty? -ed)
Now he's reciting the "Bush Lied, People Died" mantra.
HOLY CRAP: He just went Michael Moore.. Accusing Bush (or I guess Cheney) of being on the Haliburton payroll!
Just accused Bush of letting Saudi Royal family controlling oil prices.
Now he says 'vote for me because Obama gave a good speech.'
He's just one aaaaarghhh away from being Howard Dean. (ok maybe that was overstated but not by much)
WOW: He just promised to make "make the workplace fair again" What does that mean?
Talk about peddling fear! If you don't vote for me, your kids will get sick and die! (paraphrased of course)
DAMN MSNBC pulled it! I so wish that had been in prime time. It was horrible.
No prepared remarks, kept repeating himself, angry, frothing at the mouth.
I've knocked this man as being an undisciplined campaigner. What an understatement. He came out shrill and whiney. Speaking off the cuff and making a jackass out of himself. He needs handlers! Soon.
Anyone wanting to fisk it could have a field day. He lied dozens of times.
heh- MSNBC left Chris Matthew's mic open after he walked off the set and we got to hear him tell the producers he was headed for the bathroom. Opps
Another update: Many people have said he sounded drunk... I don't completely disagree that he sounded drunk. I seriously doubt he was obviously... Which might make it worse. At least drunk he would have had an excuse.
Another: The ever liberal New York Times had a glowing review of the speech. I have to wonder if they heard it!

No one has yet pointed out that this is another flip flop. It was just last week he was cornered into saying that even with what we know now, he would have gone to war. So, is he saying he too would have misled the nation? Or, flipping his Iraq position - yet, again?
Fox had about a minute of the speech in a split screen while Greta was on and LMAO she was looking at her monitor and you could tell she was thinking - What is this guy NUTZ?? Fox killed the feed and I scanned the tube to see if any network was so low as to carry it - I mean, come on - the last night of the opposition convention? What a lack of class. Sure enough, leave it to MSLSD to not be able to restrain their patisanship. My bet is they pulled it because the guy was clearly in meltdown ... it was embarassing. I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I thought it would be of interest. I am a reporter for a newspaper in West Virginia and Jim Rassman was here Thursday. It was the typical rah-rah "Kerry's the man, Bush is a liar, Kove is the Anti-Christ" stuff, but he said something that sparked my interest. He was talking about his dealings with Kerry in Vietnam and told a story about finding a stash of rice and munitions. After talking about coming under fire, and his Chinese guy getting blown to bits, he said the group was going to destroy the rice. But, after tossing his grenade, Kerry didn't duck fast enough and caught a full load of rice in the ass. "It was the funniest thing I've ever seen and I'll never forget it," Rassman said. "And I'll never let him forget it." To me, this sounds suspiciously like the incident that some Swift Boat folks have been using to demonstrate that Kerry's second Purple Heart was not the result of enemy action (i.e. enemy fire) but "self-inflicted," even if it wasn't intentional. I found it very interesting that one of Kerry's staunchest supporters (registered GOP and according to him "the first time I've ever been involved in politics and the first time I've ever donated to a candidate") may have inadvertantly admitted that the other SWB vets might just know what they're talking about.

Let me get this right.
Kerry says he has doubts about the Vietnam war but volunteers to go. He shoots "gooks" and "slopes", destroys villages, and gets medals, while possibly exaggerating. He comes home to the US and says, in front of a Senate committee, he and others participated in an immoral war and committed war crimes. Now, Kerry is running around touting his medals he got for his self admitted war crimes, saying that this qualifies him to be President of the United States.
To make matters worse, Kerry has the balls to say that Bush who served in TANG and Cheney who had 5 deferments are the bad guys. Not that may years ago anti-war, loving folks would have said that Bush and Cheney were the good guys because they didn't go to this immoral war, by all means necessary.

On a similar note, have you ever seen the pictures of Bill Clinton at, I believe, Ron Brown's funeral? There is a series of pictures of him laughing and having a great time until he notices a camera pointed at him and immediately puts on the solemn face.
[The former President is now receiving treatment for heart complications right now in New York.]

At the risk of being as pedantic as our host, Merriam-Webster has wake-up as a hyphenated word:
Main Entry: wake-up
Pronunciation: 'wAk-"&p
Function: adjective
: serving to wake up
If we're going to ridicule, we should have our info right.

It means he'll lead us into a bright new future where the state controls the means of production and distribution. He can't just come right out an put it that way, though, because Americans are still too ignorant to appreciate the benefits of enslavement.

As regards Bush's tax cuts and the wealthy, blah blah blah. What they don't tell you is that the cuts ELIMINATED the tax burden for almost 8 million low income families. The left takes advantage of that population being removed from the sample (because they now pay 0 tax, they no longer "count" feh!) to present a skewed number. The link below details the real and VERY EQUITABLE impact of the cuts, as regards lower income households.

Well, technically "wake-up call" is two words, not three. (Compound verb+prepositions, when used as an adjective preceding the noun it modifies, are hyphenated and made into one word.)
But the speech was still not really worth my listening time.

Who are we fighting in the "War on Terror"?
Beancounter, Kerry is going to get more of us killed.
Example, at the Dems convention, Kerry told us that he learned on the swift boat to turn into the attact. Yet when the swift boat boys go after him, what does he do? He threatens to sue the TV stations that were running the ads. He tries to get the publisher to stop publishing the book. And amusingly, he asked Geo. W Bush to "tell them to stop". To this day has he not even addressed anything that SBVT has charged. In short he's done everything but take it to the SBVT.
Forget what he said at the Dems covention. Is this how he's going to take it to the terrorist?
Kerry needs to be crushed. To tell the world and the Islamist, that if they bring to the US, what happened in Russia this week, we will hunt them down and treat them like the rabid dogs they are.
Besides, Bush isn't running against Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein

She will be a worthy adversary but so will Rudy, John, Chris Cox maybe, Michael Steele???, and some others. Too bad Arnold can't run, he would make them all "girlie men". Love your Blog!!!!!!

how many people writing here have seen combat? not political election combat... but people killing people combat. bush wins and we will prove that we support a president that cares about one country on a big planet. a human being has a larger focus. but none of you would understand, your just too darn smart. "darn smart" to bush is whittle down future forming decisions down to a yes or no answer. "Flipper?"... thank God. When you get new information and facts, an intelligent person re-evaluates the situation using the higher functions of thought and logic to come to the most logical conclusion incorperating the new info. Pavlov's dog couldn't do that though... hear a bell, it's time to go to war. am i on candid camera?

Syrian or North Korean? You may prefer to pledge your allegiance to the United Nations, you may even jump with glee when Libya adjudicates what human rights you deserve. joey, look beyond your nose, two nations and 50 million people have an opportunity to live their lives as they wish. I suppose your right we only care about one country on a big planet(sarcasm). Yes joey lets leave Saddam in power for what, another 20 years? Will the Iraqis stop suffering then? NO, not with his 'just and compassionate' sons ready to take over. How many will die because we prefer to look the other way. Its already near 1 million, give a take a couple of 100,000. Like you give a damn about anybody but yourself. Keep your fear to yourself, an wallow in it. It's what your type does best. And you better bone up on the koran, because if more of us took your attitude, we will all end up dead or practicing Islam.
Personally , I believe that every time the terrorist attacks this country, we should remove 2 dictatorships. If they are willing to sacrifice our civilians, lets do something worth while in their honor.
