New Questions On Kerry's Silver Star

There are new questions tonight [I love that line- guess who I stole it from] about John Kerry's Silver Star. Newly obtained documents [love that line too, stop gloating -ed] paint a Rather different [enough already -ed] tale than the one told by John Kerry.

KERRY AND THE KILLING

In his campaign book Massachusetts Senator John Kerry notes there was fine line between actions that merited a court martial or a medal. He reported that medals were given for questionable activities in order to boost morale.

This narrow distinction figures into the controversy that has raged for a several weeks regarding the Silver Star Kerry was awarded for killing a Vietnamese man.

For more than 30 years, Kerry has portrayed a heroic version of a life and death struggle -- of staring down a suspected guerilla who was about to fire upon Kerry's swift boat. It was kill. Or be killed. At least, that's the version Kerry tells.

Eyewitnesses offer a far different account. They allege Kerry shot a wounded teenager retreating from battle.

Kerry has made public, hundreds of pages of official Navy documents to bolster his many claims. Conspicuous by its absence is the official after action report of what actually happened that day. The after action report written by John Kerry, himself.

In an exclusive, The Point has obtained this document from U.S. Navy archives (you can see it here). The pertinent section reads:

"PCF 94 beached in center of ambush in front of small path when Viet Cong sprung up from bunker 10 feet from unit. Man ran with weapon towards hootch. Forward M-60 machine gunner wounded man in leg. Officer-in-charge, LTjg Kerry, jumped ashore and gave pursuit while other units saturated area with fire and beached placing assault parties ashore. Kerry chased VC inland behind hootch and shot him while he fled -- capturing one B-40 rocket launcher with round in chamber."

So there you have it. The official record written by John Kerry supports what the critics have alleged rather than the John Wayne Kerry version the Massachusetts liberal has been telling.

Now that Dan Rather's blunder has backfired 180 degrees and taken the Bush AWOL story off the table, look for the Swift Boat veterans to launch a new wave of attacks.

BTW In this documents the fonts aren't proportional. But I can see it already... Moonbat lefties will try to claim it is a fake. Again confusing charges with fact.

UPDATE: The Swifties are looking at is BRONZE star paperwork... and they ain't real happy.

I have been to the after action report, but I did not see Kerry's signature on it . Where is the indication that Kerry actually wrote it?

By the way, great work on Kerry and Rather.

Thanks

Reading the message, I'm assuming that someone has been able to relate CTE 194.5.4.4 to Kerry's command (PCF-94).

Also the routing information

and the next couple of lines should identify the unit that transmitted the message. The Swift boats didn't have capability for hard copy messages (probably, they only had voice radios) and would need to send message traffic from a base station. If the unit can be identified from the routing, and it traces to the Coast Guard Cutter, then it pretty much points to Kerry as the author.

The proof that Kerry compiled the after action report is again in Kerry's own words. He has said numerous times that he constructed that particular document as well as many others that are now in question.

Now does his signature appear on the form? No. Could it be fraudulent? Yes.

Fred:

Earlier this month the Dems showed several "heroic" pics of Kerry during his brief tour with the Swifts...one showed him carelessly twirling an M-16 by the pistol grip as he arrived for a group photo (wearing clean starchies!)...another showed him awkwardly holding an M-16, dressed again in clean starchies, and adorned with crossed magazine belts...I guess he had to hurry for the photo ops because he only had 4 months to get wounded(?) three times, and be awarded(as if a prize in a box of Cracker Jacks(please, no peanuts, the hulls may show up opn his teeth in the pics!)a Bronze Star and a Silver Star... too bad he was in 'boats...hard to frag a conniving politico without taking a good man with him...
