Brit Hume on FoxNews lead with the CBS document story. They are interviewing documents experts who told CBS the Docs were bogus.
Emily Will actually told them if they broadcast it on Wed that on Thursday they'd be answering questions. CBS said she was not emphatic enough.
An hour late and still we wonder.
Hrumph! Michele is stealing my lines.
here's this nice old granny to say that Bush always sucked.
UPDATE: What the hell does this mean? (Drudge)
Statement by the President of CBS News, Andrew Heyward:"We established to our satisfaction that the memos were accurate or we would not have put them on television. There was a great deal of coroborating [sic] evidence from people in a position to know. Having said that, given all the questions about them, we believe we should redouble our efforts to answer those questions, so that's what we are doing."
We waited all day for that? There must be more.
Two weeks after it was debunked they just now decided to take the documents out the desk draw and look at them again?
A thought: If Dan Rather says tonight they are going to open an internal investigation it should not take long. All the work has been done for them.
The Link Master General is on it as well.
UPDATE Lemme sum up the CBS defence: Those evil Republicans are picking on us. Oh and Bush sucked.
More KoollAid on 60 Minute tonight..

I assure you, as of this very moment, the CBS execs are in the middle of a downright battle over what they are going to say.
I absolutely LOVE it that the time has come for all news organizations to realize that America (at least 73% of it) isn't going to simply eat the bullsh*t they try to put in our mouths. RATHER, we'll just feed it back to them. ;)

Doesn't look like they're going to do it during the 6'oclock news. Dan Rather is on at 6:30 - maybe then??? Or will he go on Larry King and talk about it so he doesn't have to face the "public" or "mass media??" 6:13 pm

They don't say "were authentic."
They say "were accurate."
They are going with Plan B: forgeries that speak the truth.

Tonight on 60 Minutes they're presenting the old biddy who says the documents are fake but they do seem to reflect what Killian and "others" felt about Bush. Of course, the woman is 86 years old and an anti-Bush Democrat, but Rather and Company have decided to use her to refute criticism. But wait... the real evidence to substantiate the claims of CBS News ARE THE FREAKING DOCUMENTS which this woman says re phonies. What the f*ck is going on here? And why isn't 60 Minutes having Killians widow and son refute the old biddy's allegations? Where's the National Guard officers who substantiate what Bush defenders have said? Where's Ben Barnes' daughter who said he's a freaking liar (I'm paraphrasing)? Where are the document examiners who told CBS NOT to use the forgeries in their story?

The latest ABC "spin" is to forget that the documents are forgeries, but that the secretary who is not a Bush supporter is saying it was LIKELY that this Cornel said it, therefore, more to the point is what this old lady partisan said that her boss "THOUGHT" about Bush.
So now they want us to accept gossip as truth, & CBS is stonewalling....AGAIN!
It was embarrassing watching Brit with the roundtable trying to figure out & decipher what ABC's intent was. Who cares. A FRAUD WAS PLAYED ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! That's the story.

Fox News used Little Green Fascist as a credible source and didn't even bother to notice that the example given to prove dithering by Little green Fascist didn't have dithering turned on in Word and proved nothing.
I myself wonder if someones waiting for the president to come out and deny the charges before revealing all the documents.

ITMT, Kerry is saying salderous things about Bush. All lies. What a freakin' liar he is!
At least the public can see the difference between his politics of hatred & Bush's politics of hope & good will, and great ideas. Bush doesn't have to mention Kerry at all. :))

Is it from a transcription, or do they generate their correspondence with Notepad and MS DOS EDIT?

cbs was really called out to the mat, especially with efforts like those the majority whip roy blunt and 40 other colleagues from the house who signed and sent a petition to Heyward demanding a retraction. Blunt made several good points - very impressed with initiative and leadership on this issue.
and in related news, dan rather looks like he's about to have a nervous breakdown.
