You Neocons think this is good news that Karl Rove forged a federal document to dupe CBS and the DNC and you think that is going to play well with undecideds and independents.

Let me have some of what you all are drinking!!

Dave the fact you don't get that the post is satire shows how completely stupid you are.

You liberals are just stupid.

Dave:

In a way we are stupid (Liberals) we keep supporting programs that largely go to "Red" states in proportion to the tax revenue they send to Washington. If we were not so compassionate we should allocate federal tax dollars to states based on how they vote.

It is nice that the "Red" states can say they all want lower taxes and less programs but they mostly get more than a dollars worth of federal program dollars for each dollar they send to Washington.

Dave, that's a great talking point and all...but do you think you could humor all of us "freeloaders" and cite some examples of how the "Red" states are getting more of the tax pie?

I never thought that I would need to spell this out, but after reading Dave's comments, this thread, I must include here that "Part One of the 'Saucer Overlords Invaded by Karl Rove' newest Episode XVIII," (must scroll to Comments Section of link) was utter and complete satire. Ludicrous, yes, but still satire.

Although I imagine that there are some readers who took it quite seriously, believing Karl Rove to be now the new Leader of the Saucer Overlords, following his, umm, *invasion*.

Andrew,

Here is a website reference for you that details this, it is from the taxfoundation.org which is a non-partisan group that analyzes tax policy but definitely has a lower tax bias (but not a Republican/Democrat bias).

http://www.taxfoundation.org/taxingspending.html

I did some rudimentary analysis by looking at Red/Blue and Purple (swing) states. I divided the list in half and looked at the top half of the states what they are getting back for their tax dollars and the lower half based on what they are getting back on their tax dollars. Here is what I found:

Top Half (get the most back from the tax dollars sent to Washington vs federal spending in their state)

Blue States 2 (3 if you include DC which I would not)
Purple States 5 (NM, ME, MO, IA, AZ)
Red States 18

The Bottom half get the least back from their tax dollars sent to Washington

Blue States 11
Purple States 9 (PA, OH, FL, OR, WI, CO, MN, NV, NH)
Red States 5

So that is what I base my statement on.

Please feel free to do you own analysis.
