Paul, you meant to link to this page, didn't you? But I'm not complaining, that was a very entertaining 404 error page.

Huh, thanks Sean... It looked right in the edit screen but there must have been an invisible character in the URL screwing it up.
Thanks for checking me.

How can Halperin stand by his stated belief that "Kerry distorts, takes out of context, and mistakes all the time, but these are not central to his efforts to win". Current case in point are Kerry & Edwards' comments on stem cell research and their promises to cure everything from Alzheimer's to paralysis.
Yesterday columnist Charles Krauthammer wrote a column addressing this "loathsome display". In his summary he states:
"Politicians have long promised a chicken in every pot. It is part of the game. It is one thing to promise ethanol subsidies here, dairy price controls there. But to exploit the desperate hopes of desperate people with the promise of Christ-like cures is beyond the pale.
There is no apologizing for Edwards's remark. It is too revealing. There is absolutely nothing the man will not say to get elected."
...and I must agree. In my life I have had the misfortune to stare down at two (2) people I have known and cared for in the hospital...their heads were bolted to frame...
Kerry & Edwards engage in these topics in this way precisely because it IS central to their efforts to win.
