An attack -- or even an attempted attack -- by Islamic extremists on Saudi Arabia's oil sector would have disastrous consequences on the world market and the price per barrel, analysts warn. Of more than 700 people arrested in the course of the last six months in Saudi Arabia, dozens had been part of cells charged with preparing attacks against oil sites, according to authorities in Riyadh.

The problem is that he came out strong for the "story." Now that evidence is showing that it is bogus, he is having to spin the new evidence like a top to keep it from making him wrong about his earlier statements.

This whole thing was the counterspin theme by the Demos to distract and attempt to suppress the breaking Kerry-Is-Advised-By-And-Accepts-Funding-From-Terrorists issue.
Remember that? TREASONGATE, or, COMMIEGATE or thereabouts...blogs were beginning to discuss this very important aspect about Kerry and then, presto, there was this "missing weapons (and blame Bush)" meme...
So, again, the TRAITORGATE information, as has the Swiftvets information, hits home to Kerry and they splurge with spray paint when cornered. Joshua Micah...has two cans all to himself.

I think the damage has been done to Bush. Does anyone really believe the MSM will go after the NY Slimes and C-BS for their obvious politically-motivated hatchet job? Even Fox News Channel avoids using the words "lie" or "misleading" when discussing the controversy. I was talking to someone in the gym who's a Bush supporter and he was upset about the NY Times story. When I told him the story was debunked, he was surprised because he wasn't aware of that. The majority of voters are not visiting the blogosphere or listen to radio talk shows. The NY Times doesn't believe they must be honest -- they believe they are the intellectual elite who are above honesty. In fact, to them honesty is an antiquated concept. Everything is relative in their world.
