The 10 Spot - Useless Knowledge Edition

Ten stories that may come in handy at the office Christmas party or around the water cooler...

  1. Jimmy Walker Walter is a proud member of the tin-foil brigade, but is just so happens that he is a trust fund slacker as well. He's pissing away his inheritance trying trying to probe 9/11 was an inside job. If I was entering the contest I'd work in the "DY- NO-MITE!" angle [Ed - that was funnier before the correction]...
  2. NORAD is tracking Santa again this Christmas, the 50th anniversary of their Santa tracking. Hopefully that will go better than yesterdays missile defense test.
  3. What will they think of next? The sauerkraut martini...
  4. CBS Marketwatch reported the results of the 2004 Weblog Awards, which is pretty cool. If your local news station caries the CBS Marketwatch News segments you might even catch Frank Barnako interviewing me about the awards.
  5. DC is 15 days away from loosing baseball again.
  6. In Washington State they are going to keep counting ballots until the Democrat wins, or until the stop finding new ballots that are suspected to favor the Democrat - which ever comes first.
  7. Protesting dudes in thongs - fortunately picture free...
  8. Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott (formerly of Pantera) was buried in a special KISS Kasket according to Gene Simmons. [Photo]
  9. America's Funniest Work Surveillance Videos - Cop who habitually pees in the parking garage elevator.
  10. Survivor host Jeff Probst and Survivor: Vanuatu's hottie Julie Berry are a couple according to People Magazine.

Let me be the first to say ... (Below threshold)

Let me be the first to say the Jimmy Walter stuff is HILARIOUS. Did a Google on him and I laughed so hard my ribs still hurt. This guy is truly way, way out there.

See-Dubya:

Whoa! Whoa! Kevin, that's Jimmy Walter, not Jimmy Walker. Jimmy "Dynomite" Walker is actually kinda conservative. In fact, here's his site and his views: http://www.dynomitejj.com/views.asp

Sam Park:

I must second See-Dubya. I've seen Jimmy Walker on TV here and there as a celeb-pundit and I have to say, I'm pretty sure he's a republican. There's no doubt that he's pretty conservative.

Tweeeeeet!

There's a flag on the play. From the ref -

"illegal use of the letter 'k', when it should have been a 't', offense, 15 yards"

To the booth, with John Madden -

'Well, if we look here (draws on video screen), Aylward lined up strong on the right side, but when he snapped the ball (squiggles some more on the video screen), and I don't think the refs caught this, there was a bit a fumble, and some illegal procedure (draws circle around 'Walker') right here. Do you see the missed execution? Clearly, should have been a 't' formation'

Pat Summeral - 'yeah, ya don't see that one every day...'

" I resent it when they call me delusional,"

I'm guessing that Mr. Walker gets that a lot.

Note that in the CBS story, they say,
... I've been wondering where the bloggers have been on the Bernard Kerik story. TalkingPointsMemo.com has been focused on the story, passing along tidbits from Newsweek, the New York daily News and The New York Times...

Of course, he surmises that it's not the biggest thing in the blogosphere because the MSM is doing a "good job" with it already...spare me...but more notable is the fact that a regular read of his is the leftist TPM. No surprise here, though; what would surprise me is seeing them reference (in a positive light, that is) a right-of-center blog.

Beth:

WHAT??? Dimebag's dead?
I missed that news while on vacation?
