In Washington state it's most likely to be the lawyers...
From The Seattle Times:
After losing the first two counts in Washington's closest-ever race for governor, it appears Democrat Christine Gregoire has pulled even with - or possibly overtaken - Republican Dino Rossi, with tomorrow the final day of a contentious statewide manual recount. This one is a prize fight, and it looks like they're still in the middle rounds. With a margin of victory you can count on two hands neither side is likely to toss in the towel tomorrow...King County, the last to complete the recount, is not expected to release new vote totals until tomorrow afternoon. But state Democratic Party Chairman Paul Berendt said last night the party's calculations indicate that, with virtually all of the votes tallied, Gregoire is ahead by eight votes.
"Based on the data we've received, we're confident she's taken the lead," Berendt said.
Republicans said they were still crunching King County's figures and weren't sure who was ahead. But they confirmed the margin is likely fewer than a dozen votes.

If Gregoire comes out on top by eight votes, you can bet your ass she will be claiming victory. Just a week or so ago, she was saying that a 43-vote margin was "literally a tie".
I smell a change of tune coming up.

That is the Democrat party line, recount until we are one vote ahead and then refuse to accept any more ballots.

They need a revote.

I am a Washington state voter who is following every move in this grab for power by the democrats. Two previous counts both won by Rossi were discounted by Gregoire as "ties".
But now she will abide by this ridiculous margin of victory (8 votes) if it holds up and keep a straight face in public making no statements that this margin is the same virtual tie as before.
If she prevails in this recount, there are two options:
1) a re-Vote
2) a re-call (if necessary)
Gregoire is fully aware that she will be annihilated in a re-Vote. I suspect that there will be strong sentiment for a recall if there is no revote.

At this point, I'm waiting for Bill Gates to step in and buy concession speeches from both parties.
