The 40 Most Obnoxious Quotes Of 2004

John Hawkins has the list and you know this list is good when the 'Dean Scream' only barely makes the list at number 40.

BTW- I got into a long discussion in one of the threads below about liberals saying crazy things and it costing them votes. This list removes all doubt.

Based upon the No. 01 selection (which I agree with as rating), so, is Leopold (earlier thread comments in Wizbang) Michael Moore? Seems to be an echo there.

Paul, I posted a list that is more slanted against Republicans if you want to post some bi-partisan love. Mine aren't in order - - but the Dean Scream still makes the list.

The Kerry Heinz quote in #3... (Below threshold)

The Kerry Heinz quote in #39 takes on new meaning this year with the tsunami relief efforts. Could we, as a nation, afforded a comment like:

39) "Clothing is wonderful, but let them go naked for a while, at least the kids. Water is necessary, and then generators, and then food, and then clothes." -- Teresa Heinz Kerry instructs volunteers packing donations for "hurricane relief efforts in the Caribbean". Switch hurricane to tsunami and Caribbean to Asia, and what kind of s-storm would be had?

Then again, with the MSM, doubt we'd ever hear that quote again...

A few observations:<p... (Below threshold)

A few observations:

#35 - WHY SHOULD NON-AMERICANS BE A HIGHER PRIORITY FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE USA? (shows why I listen to country and classical music)

#30 - Now THAT is a leader I want in DC!

#21 - Vote for Jesus (er, sorry, Kerry) and HALLELUJAH, YOU ARE HEALED! (at least he was entertaining)

#20 - Yup, we know Rove has UBL's cell number, WHAT IS WALTER SMOKING, I WANT SOME!

#10 - OK, Bush won, so does Cameron Diaz HAVE to sleep with me now? (Not that I would TOUCH her, but I didn't seem rape centers open up on 11/3, did you?)

There are some doozies, on ... (Below threshold)

There are some doozies, on that list, to be sure.

But isn't it a bit weird that some cursing during a balloon drop snafu makes the cut, while our dear friend Ann Coulter is somehow ommitted entirely? I mean, isn't obnoxiousness her raison d'etre?

For example, I only have to go back ten days to find this touching yuletide sentiment:

"To The People Of Islam:
Just think: If we'd invaded your countries, killed your leaders and converted you to Christianity YOU'D ALL BE OPENING CHRISTMAS PRESENTS RIGHT ABOUT NOW!
Merry Christmas"

I guess she'll have to try harder in '05 to displace widely read political luminaries like Cameron Diaz.

Btw, do crazy comments like Coulter's diminish Republican vote totals? If not, then it would seem that Andrew Sullivan's "obnoxious" quote is rather descriptive.
