Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton collapses during speaking appearance in BuffaloBUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton collapsed Monday while delivering a speech on Social Security, a radio station reported.
Colleen DiPirro, president of the Amherst, N.Y., Chamber of Commerce, told WBEN-AM radio that Clinton told the crowd she was feeling weak and had had a stomach virus. Clinton started to speak then collapsed, DiPirro told the radio station.
Clinton, 57, was treated by an emergency crew at the scene and declined to be taken to a hospital, the radio station said.
She was scheduled to speak later Monday at a Catholic college about health care. Several hundred people were waiting to hear that address. There were also hundreds of anti-abortion protesters waiting at the college.
Clinton's 58-year-old husband, former president Bill Clinton, had quadruple bypass surgery in September.
Thanks to Big Bang Hunter in the comments for the heads up.
Update: No snarkiness intended, but over at CNN her "collapsing" has been downgraded to a "fainting." It does not sound that serious as she gave another speech an hour later.

One hopes that she is OK. Evil as she may be, she is far from evil enough to wish death or harm upon.
That must be some helluva stomach bug, though.

One can imagine the stress she must be suffering, President Bush's re-election followed, shortly thereafter, by the smashing success of the Iraq elections.
To be sure... it's another, yet more severe, outbreak of PEST, my dear Watson.

On the contrary if she can still speak it is an extremely serious matter.

I am proud of the way we conservatives wish our worthy opponents, such as Hillary Clinton, good health. Compare that to the way the left reacted to Reagan being shot, and to his Alzheimers. Our prayers are with you, Senator.
While we're at it, let's pray for Ted Kennedy, so he can find his way into an alcohol treatment program.
Or for Mark Dayton, so he can find a new psychiatrist.
Or for Chuck Schumer, so he can find peace and happiness selling women's shoes at Macy's.

The latest I heard, it was some sort of 24-hour stomach bug. It is reported her whole staff apparently had it. Treated and released, not admitted to hospital. On the other hand, given her speeches, maybe she can’t stomach her own words.

Right, she's suffering a lot of stress from the success of elections that are a product of a war she supported from the start.

The new word for this is "presenteeism."
That's when you show up for work when you're too sick to be productive.
Stay home, drink plenty of fluids, and rest, especially if you're an old fart like some of us.

All political, moral, and ethical differences aside we can only wish her a speedy recovery and hope that this isn't a sign of future health problems for her. She is still young and I hope she enjoys many more years of good health. That is the only decent way to feel. I commend those of us on the right who can overcome our differences at a time like this. And for those of us that also harbor a terribly hilarious mental image of Teddy Kennedy driving the ambulance we should all be ashamed, I know I am.

My suggestion that Hilary's fainting spell should give pause to those who ridicule the President fainting (while he was eating the pretzel) -- see the trackbacks -- was greeted with this response:
"Because fainting due to illness isn't the same as not being able to eat a fucking pretzel."
1) He's still thinks the pretzel had something to do with it.
2) Even it did, so what? Illness, choking, skipping breakfast, whatever.
3) He can't speak about the President without using foul language.
I can't help but feel embarrassed for these people.
