Mark That Date!!!

Sunday January 30, 2005 - The date John Kerry agrees to sign Form 180, authorizing release of his complete military record. From Meet The Press:

MR. RUSSERT: Many people who've been criticizing you have said: Senator, if you would just do one thing and that is sign Form 180, which would allow historians and journalists complete access to all your military records. Thus far, you have gotten the records, released them through your campaign. They say you should not be the filter. Sign Form 180 and let the historians...
SEN. KERRY: I'd be happy to put the records out. We put all the records out that I had been sent by the military. Then at the last moment, they sent some more stuff, which had some things that weren't even relevant to the record. So when we get--I'm going to sit down with them and make sure that they are clear and I am clear as to what is in the record and what isn't in the record and we'll put it out. I have no problem with that.
MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?
SEN. KERRY: But everything, Tim...
MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?
SEN. KERRY: Yes, I will. But everything that we put in it, Tim--everything we put in--I mean, everything that was out was a full documentation of all of the medical records, all of the fitness reports. And I'd call on those who have challenged me, let's see their records. I want to see the records of each of those people who have put up a challenge, because some of them have some serious questions in them, and it hasn't been appropriate...
MR. RUSSERT: So they should sign Form 180s for themselves as well?
SEN. KERRY: You bet.
There's no wiggle room in that statement.

This bit sounds like an admission his record has been doctored.

We should all see that he gets a form 180. Here's where you can get it.

And his address is:

Maybe if he gets enough of them mailed to his office he'll make time to fill one out and send it in.

This guy doesn't need any wiggle room. He will just go back to saying "all my records are out there." Lamestream media won't challenge him on it.

What a lame dodge! He's trying to cause his critics, without specifying who they might be, to meet the same standard he's agreeing to....once again. Fact is that he sought the presidency and wanted to have his exploits accepted on his say-so. We now know that there appears to be a lot of squishy aspects to his military service, including how long it lasted and if any administrative massage occurred down the road. None of his critics sought the job; whether they won numerous medals or spent their hitch peeling spuds with Beetle Bailey is not germane to his record.

MSM will not dog him on this.

And the notion that some "stuff" that has come later to his 'record' does not merit inclusion in his record is likewise dubious. It shows he's still intent on providing a scrubbed view, if at all.

Does it really matter what else is in his military records? I mean dont we have enough information to conclude that this man is an absolute putz.

We know what he did before he said that he did what he was not going to do before he did it. (???) We know hes a liar. We know hes a traitor. We know who his friends are. What else do we need to know?

I really doubt that we will ever see a form 180 signed by this waste of carbon, nor do I care. If left alone, we just may be lucky enough to see him waste away in his thought of what might have been.

I agree everyone should send Johnny Boy a copy of Form 180 - registered, so we know someone at his office received a copy!

I don't want to see anything that "he" releases, I want to see the files straight from the Navy - unaltered!

One other interesting point is that "IF" he signs form 180, it means that navy personnel can talk about what is in the files - yes we could actually get answers to questions from certain people that know the truth about sKerry!

O.K. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. Having no derogatory reports in my record, I have long wondered why Kerry won't sign. He is obviously hiding what the Swift Boat Vets have already confirmed.

The next time Kerry appears on MTP, Russert should have a form 180. One that is filled out and just requiring a Kerry signature. That would be no wiggle room. Also if Kerry trys to run in 2008 we will see some Dems calling for a signed form 180.

Oh wait, maybe he is. But the point still stands.

I thought that was the funniest line, but the worst one was admitting running guns to commies during a war against commies. Isn't that treason or something?

::Reads Amish's comment::

Oh, yea, that's when he said it. I'm also surprised (not) that Russert didn't call him on it. After all the shrieks and screams to get Bush's record put out there, and then the desperate search through those docs, you'd think that the MSM would be ravenous to look through Kerry's shifty and suspect record. ::rolls eyes::

kevino:

He agrees to full access to all of his records. So that means that we are going to get his diaries too. That would be good. Maybe we even get to look at his magic hat.

However, I agree with others here: it will never happen. In the first place, he has a classic out. He demands that some unspecified number of other people release their records first. He'll never specify a list. But the biggest reason is that no one in the MSM has the guts to call him on it.

Great post, though. It would be nice if some real jouranlists got hold of this story and started printing little stories like, "Day 27 and still no word from Senator Kerry when he is going to release his records."

Here's another vote for "John Who?" He's yesterday's putz.

- Kerry isn't going anywher... (Below threshold)

- Kerry isn't going anywhere. Its doubtful he will even manage re-election to the senate in 2006. Anyone who runs for president is thouroughly vetted by the secret service/fbi/cia/state department, which means SOMBODY in the government knows the whole story. Carters amnesty order and a little fast shuffling with autopens got his discharge reversed and made him eligible. But just like Chappiquidick sank that dipshit Kennedy, even the mere facts of his record would doom him, so the Libtards did everything they could to burry it. Soros sealed his fate with that interview this week. He intimated that Kerry even lied to him. If you read the entire transcript its obvious even the Mass. DNC people have closed the gate on the great waffler.....

-S-:

What I found the most interesting and revealing about what Kerry said was that he was going to release the records, but then added that he'd take careful review of them and all that...implying that what we'll eventually find are records "cleansed" by Kerry and his careful overview. You have to pay attention to what Kerry says by not saying what he does say, 'cause he'll tell you what he actually has in mind if you follow along on his implications and denials and various plans to, literally, burn it all down.

Kerry saying he's releasing his records but that first he'd do so by his own careful review of the records is, well, saying he'll release his "edited" records only if they meet with his "review" of the contents first...

This is the heart of the Kerry revelation:

-->>"...So when we get--I'm going to sit down with them and make sure that they are clear and I am clear as to what is in the record and what isn't in the record and we'll put it out. I have no problem with that..."

See? Kerry is revealing that they'll be edited per some overview and method, there's obfuscation as to who, exactly, will be involved and in what...the "I" and "we" ongoing confusion or perhaps comingling is very interesting, as is the later conclusion that only after that process will whatever be "put...out."

Interesting, very interesting choice of words, "put...out." Could mean revealed, could mean destroyed, probably means a combination of both. He's planning another edit of his records, per his "authority" in the Senate and various helpers, as was done earlier by Carter about Kerry's activities in relationship to his military record and behaviors concerning the Vietnam War.

If Kerry wasn't already aware that there was content there in his record that poses a credibility problem to him, he would have long ago released the full and UNEDITED version of his military record and that includes having signed the 180.

nomorelies:

Geez. Just sign the damn 180. We know you're a creep. Just give us what we need to bury your sorry a*s once and for all. Do the citizens of Massachusetts not have a whit of sense? How DO these creeps keep getting elected? Thank God I live in Texas where truth, honor and valor matter. And, I thank God for cowboys and George W. Bush. Kennedy and Kerry aren't worthy to walk in W's shadow.

I think the transcript got ... (Below threshold)

I think the transcript got that wrong; when asked if he would sign the Form 180, I'm pretty sure Kerry's response was, "Yes, I would," not "Yes, I will." I was watching and paying close attention at that point. I suspect he will claim that what he meant is that he would sign the form, provided all the Swiftees sign the form as well.

As Brainster adeptly points... (Below threshold)
-S-:

As Brainster adeptly points out, everyone has to again really work to figure out Kerry's double negatives, triple contradictions and generalized pretenscious nonsense. Kerry can't say what he really means, thinks or feels even if his life depends upon it because Kerry can't seem to work his way past B.S...t to see the front side of the cow. So, here we go again, trying to figure out what Kerry meant when he said what he didn't mean, what he means because he didn't say something else but something other than that, and at this point, does anyone really CARE what Kerry means, other than howtheheck did this guy land in the Senate? And as a career at that?!

My main outrage with Kerry is that his history should have landed him somewhere else, but that he's been allowed to even take the oath of office in the U.S. Senate given his history is mindblowing to me as a citizen, and voter. I wonder if the voters in Massachusetts have ever been polled...very...carefully as to who voted for this guy and in what numbers and how often.
