Falling down the rabbit hole

At the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, CNN's Chief News Executive Eason Jordan shocked the attendees by declaring that the US Military had not only killed twelve journalists in Iraq, but it had deliberately targeted them for killing.

Now, CNN attacking our military is hardly nothing new. But here's where things get a little strange.

1) Eason Jordan was the same CNN exec who revealed that CNN had, for years, covered up for and cooperated with Saddam Hussein's government, even to the point of knowing in advance he was going to kill two of his sons-in-law and keeping that quiet. He explained that it was because Saddam had threatened CNN employees in Iraq.

2) Jordan's outrageous claim was challenged by Congressman Barney Frank, who basically told him to "put up or shut up."

Let me get this straight. CNN allowed itself to be intimidated by threats of force, but boldly stands up to actual demonstrations of the willingness to kill journalists? And one of the first to call "bullshit" on them was Barney Frank, the ultra-liberal, openly gay congressman Barney Frank who once had a boyfriend running an escort service out of Frank's Washington townhouse?

I might have to re-evaluate my opinion of Frank. It's a pity I can't say the same about CNN.

J.

What did you expect from America hater Ted Turner's outfit? If these guy's do not smear America Turner finds someone who will smear America. They know who controls the man that signs their checks.

I'm still stunned that a person that has undoubtly traveled using US military for protection would say that. I wonder how many Marine and Army personnel have died in actions protecting embedded journalists or have died to protect the greenzone that bozo journalists like Jordan enjoy when they dream up this garbage?
Maybe he's pitching for a gig with Al Jazzera since it rivals CNN for ratings?
This is on par with the "baby milk"story from the first Gulf War when they became the offical propaganda arm for Sadam Hussein.

Since I no longer watch CNN, I don't care one iota if they disapear.

Good riddance.

Here's a weird update about this creep. Captain Ed at http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/ is reporting that this scumbag has moved in on the widow of Danny Pearl. You may remember him he actually was targeted for assassination by the terrorist scum that this guy seem to prefer to our military,

It will take an awful lot of arguing to convince me of that.

ridgerunner:

It actually pains me to say this but I am thankful that Congressman Frank challenged this idiosy. Although I don't know why I should be thankful a member of our government actually stood up to public lies and slander against our troops. It was in a hostile forum so I will give him credit for that. But kids that were in high school a year or two ago stand every night facing the darkness with a rifle in their hands for all of us. Damn, I am getting so I really hate the left.
