Wake up Black America!!! You're PAWNS of the "Left." Howard Dean just said so!!! And who says Hotel staff are predominately Black?
I'm hoping one day that all the average black men and women of America wake up and realize that all of this pandering that the Democratic party is doing... is motivated purely by partisan politics and individual agendas.
Howard Dean is nothing more than a cowardly lion: full of hot air.

Let's see, we have Condi for Sec of State, Carlos Gutierrez for Sec of Commerce, Gonzalez for Attorney General. And Bush is going to resubmit black female Janice Rodgers Brown for the judicial bench. But don't forget that Bush and the republicans are racist & sexist.
Howard Dean, for all his talk, has no blacks on his staff while governor of Vermont. And now he's implying that most of the hotel maids are black.
No double standard here.

My prediction: this quote will be ricocheting around the blogosphere for a few days, building up steam and will eventually bleed out to the mainstream press. Dean will be forced to issue an apology, and will suffer something of a black-eye for it.

I don't really mind Dean saying what he said. He's got a right to be candid. But the fact remains is that he is now the head of a powerful and important political body, representing millions of Americans. No politician in his right mind would say such a thing as that. But I guess Dean doesn't consider himself a politician anymore. He's merely a firestarter who respects the organizational abilities Republicans, yet hates us to the very core.
I hope that more and more people who call themselves Democrats will begin to recognize that their party leaders are not doing a good job representing them.
