Continuing with the Nazi thing from previous post, I would point out for some of the more eagle-eyed Kossacks that this shot was obviously taken in some sort of Bavarian themed lodge and Andrea Mitchell's blouse looks exactly like something Eva Braun would have worn.

Not saying these, in themselves, prove Greenspan's a Nazi, just very interesting. That's all.

Because under Clinton, Hackspan was against budget deficits, trade deficits and the privatization of Social Security.

If you read them and do not support the Bill of Rights then you will join the ACLU to destroy the Bill of rights, there is really no fence to sit on.

This makes no sense. Ayn Rand was a deluded worshipper of the High Church of the Free Market while the ACLU defends the Bill of Rights.

Steve, we're venturing a bit off track but this is an important debate. I don't believe facts back your entire assertion.

Greenspan is still against budget and trade deficits as far as I know. He was/is NOT against privatization of SS.

If you just want the pertinent links, here they are again. It's very important that one reads all three reports and testimony in their entirety and not remove context. Is it a bit dry? At times - but Greenspan's sentiment could not be more clearly expressed. Skip the spin and go to the sources. Notice that these are overviews of the Fed's positions during the Clinton, not Bush, administration. I'd say Greenspan is about as explicit in his opinion on SS and its remedies as he is going to be. One would be mistaken to interpret any of his testimony as a backtracking to his position that SS was and is on a track to collapse though he may appear nebulous and reserved on how best to fix a broken model.
