Weekend Caption Contest™ Winners

This weeks Weekend Caption Contest™ has so many good entries, I wasn't really sure where to begin the judging. I suggest that you read all the captions as there are some cleaver musical themed captions and the requisite humorously applied stereotypes. That said, here are the winning entries for this picture:

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder (R) signals for the translation as French President Jacques Chirac makes opening remarks at a joint press conference at the Elysee Palace in Paris, March 18, 2005. Chirac met with Schroeder, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, and Russian President Vladimir Putin for informal talks about relations between the European Union and Russia. 1) (Brian J.) - "Two celebrity judges react to a performance on the reality competition Coddled Despot."

2) (Laurence Simon) - "Fight No Evil... Fight No Evil... hey, where's Zapatero?"

3) (Ray Midge) - "M.C.s 'Retreat' and 'da Funky Fuhrer' toss signs and give mad props to the crowd."

Honorable Mention

4) (DeputyHeadmistress) - "Head and shoulders, knees and toes...."

5) (howard_deans_failed_gay_marriage) - Chirac: " Cause the Boyz in tha Bourgogne are always hard...
Schroeder: "You mess with the Reich, and we'll punch your card..."

6) (-S-) - "Chirac and Schroeder make their best attempts to garner the attention of George Soros."

Dishonorable Mention

For beating a dead horse into the ground...
(Schwerv) - "C'mon Teddy breathe!!!. Why did someone give him another dinner roll?."

Until next Friday...

Eric:

Granted it is similar to BrianJ and I am biased but I do think mine was a better pun on American Idol than Coddled Despot.

I like #5, but in the original it's "pull your card," not that it makes more sense that way. It makes me think of the old library file system - not terribly gangsta.

Ray Midge:

Damn, I think I would have placed higher had I gone with my alternate M.C. name for Chirac: 'Sir Rend-a-lot'

B/t/w, with my prize here, please don't ship with the company you used on my prize for the group names contest, cause they suck! Still waiting.

[P.S. Kevin, re: that tracking number you gave me, are you sure it's 4? Shouldn't there be more digits? Please check again when you get a chance.]
