The Associated Press catches Democrats using Hurricane Katrina as a fundraising tool...
WASHINGTON (AP/Newsday) -- A new Democratic effort to whip up indignation about the Bush administration's handling of Hurricane Katrina also tried to raise money for Democratic candidates.Since the headings are quickly being erased, here's what the AP reporter saw above the petition.Sen. Charles Schumer, a New York Democrat and the head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, issued an appeal Thursday urging people to sign an online petition to fire the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency over his handling of the Katrina response.
After an inquiry from the Associated Press, the DSCC quickly pulled down the page and said they would donate to charity any money raised by the anti-FEMA petition.
When recipients clicked on a link to the petition [Fire the FEMA Director], the top center of the screen _ above the call to "Fire the FEMA director" _ had asked for a donation to the DSCC.
Now it looks like this...

Wasn't it Howard Dean's DNC that was also trying to sell "democracy bonds" which weren't bonds but are actually donations to the Democratic Party?

Not to nitpick, but Planned Parenthood is in LA, MS, and AL providing services for those affected. There are *pregnant women* who were affected and they need OB/GYN care...not to mention that there are likely many women who lost their birth control pills and estrogen replacement medication. I'm not sure why you think it's inappropriate that Planned Parenthood is raising money for the work they're doing in the region.
As for Democrats using Katrina as a fundraiser, well...I'm definitely not a big fan of using the hurricane to anyone's advantage. Of course, I'd be surprised if Republicans aren't also using it in some way for fundraising purposes. Both parties have no shame when it comes to that sort of thing, as we saw after September 11th.

Once again, it proves that these whining, lying,
and unscrupulous Dems, will stoop to any and ALL LOWS, when it comes to furthering their Political
Agenda. They were the first to condemn the President, Commander in Chief, when he boarded the
naval ship, to commend our men and women in uniform....THIS, is what a Commander in Chief, should do....give thanks to our military---Unlike
