The answer is yes, but if you want to get confirmation of it from the mainstream media, you'll have to go digging for it.
As far as I can tell, three teenaged Muslim boys were hiding from the police (who apparently weren't even looking for them) ducked into a power substation. They touched something they shouldn't have, and two were killed. The third was seriously injured.
Lacking anything better to do, the Muslim community in and around Paris has decided to rise up and strike back. Naturally, since three kids with guilty fears did something stupid, it's the police's fault. And if it's the police's fault, then it's the government's fault, too.
This has been brewing for a long, long time. France's population of Muslim immigrants has been growing steadily for years, and the immigrants have refused to assimilate. Instead, they've established their own enclaves within France, where they hold sway and non-Muslims fear to enter. They are becoming a society surrounded by, but not part of, their neighbors.
And now they are feeling their oats, as they demonstrate their power and determination.
I've never been that fond of the French, and there's a part of me that feels a touch of schadenfreude at their problems now. But my mother always said that everyone in life serves a purpose, even if it's just to be a bad example. And France is showing the rest of the world the dangers of allowing unrestricted immigration by a people determined to re-create their own society and culture, in utter disdain and defiance of their hosts.
But will anyone listen?

There have been riots in Denmark the last few nights as well, so there is another chance for the Euros to hear the wake-up call.
Instead we get Prince Charles telling W he's too confrontational with Islamists.

Given the French example in WWII, Indochina and Algeria the French won't surrender until they can do so with the least possible amount of dignity. Then they will all sit around drinking coffee and talking about the decline of La Belle France, until we come and liberate them from their Muslim oppressors. But then they will all have been members of the resistance, (except for the people they don't like who will have been collaborators and will have their heads shaved) and they will resent us for freeing them from their tyranny when they were about to do it themselves by killing all th occupiers with snotty attitudes and poor service.

It's not entirely fair to lay the blame at the feet of the Islamic community. I'm no apologist for them, but France really made it's own bed here. It's not so much that they refused to assimilate, as France wouldn't let them assimilate. This is the fallout from French imperialism and their previous stance that Algeria and France were a single country. Unfortunately, the Algerian portion was caught in a bloody (and dirty) civil war. Eventually, the "Francophile" Algerians (who were assimilated) got run out by the independance-minded faction. Algerians became to France what Cubans became to Florida, but the French never accepted them. Add the modern islamic radicals coming to France and hooking up with disaffected youths (plus the higher birthrate among the islamic population), and you've got a ticking timebomb.

I saw that yesterday, and searched and hunted, and nothing more then a blurb here and there. Seems to be A-OK with the American Press that Islamics are rioting in France.
Too bad we cannot get the Islamic population of France on our side. At least we would know that 25% of the French populatioon would fight.

It's in the MSM in Europe. BBC gave it headlines last night, and mentioned it for the two nights previously. Not a great advert for them, but at least it is there.
Of course, all European governments are petrified of "revolution" sweeping across country to country, and have been since the French set it all off a few hundred years ago.

I can give you a reason why in three French words: Force du Frappe. (AKA, Les Bombes Atomique or "foutues armes nucléaires", to paraphrase Dennis Leary's song "Je Suis Un Cul") I'm pretty sure we'd rather that les Bicots et Norafs not get their hands on those... This news is suppressed! As so correctly pointed out, this outrage should stand as a warning to all non-muslims. As immigrants these people more resemble an invading force than an honest population seeking out opportunity in a new land. Wake up- Western world-the longer we take to do so, means a greater body count when the inevitable conflict comes. Rethink who you are electing. We're just a few Clintons, Shumers, Boxers, and Kennedys away from having Paris riots of our own.

I understand that the left i.e. Democrats are now gearing up to blame Bush for the Paris rioting. The logic goes something like this - Bush stirred up the Arabs into an anti-Western frenzy, and now the French are paying the price.
The truch of course, is that this had to happen sooner or later, and it's going to be repeated in Great Britian, Netherlands, Germany, and throughout Europe.
