This weeks Weekend Caption Contest™ was a trip down penny memory lane... I recommend perusing the entries in their entirety, as there were many excellent captions that didn't make the final cut. This week we must have hit Rodney Dill's wheelhouse, as he had the winning entry and many other excellent captions. The assignment was to provide a caption for this picture:
The winning entries:
1) (Rodney Dill) - "OK, one more time, who was the walrus?"
2) (Doug) - "Yesterday...All my wrinkles seemed so far away"
3) (FreakyBoy) - "Once upon a time, in a land far away, lived a sad and bitter boy named Pete Best..."
Honorable Mention
4) (c) - "Hey Trevor, what's a 'fookin' wanker' anyway?"
5) (TAM) - "In his bid to help sales of Mary Mapes' new book, Paul McCartney attempts to explain proportional fonts to an attentive audience."
6) (tacitblue) - "The story wasn't bad, but the kids were distracted by the one-legged woman in the corner."
The Hindsight Is 20/20 Award goes to:
(jmaster) - "Though no one would have thought it possible in 1965, 40 years of growing evidence makes it increasingly clear that Ringo was actually the SMART one..."
Until next Friday...

Thanks Kevin, For some reason your contest and Commonwealth Conservative's gave me more inspiration than usual this time 'round.

I didn't enter because I couldn't tell who it was. I stared and stared at the pic, but all I could think was, "Doesn't Angela Lansbury have gray hair?"

I couldn't tell who it was a first either, but the link wasn't broken then. I usually try to bring up the printer page at Yahoo and use that as the link location. It seems to stick around longer.

Hmmm. The link was to the print page link at Yahoo. Those are usually pretty static. I do include the actual caption in the ALT text for just such occasions...

Thanks for the props!
Coincidentally, a Kuwaiti co-worker said to me this very afternoon, “Hind sight is 50/50”.
