Seems little Johnny Depp is a victim again:
DEPP: 'I CAN'T STAY IN RIOT-RAVAGED FRANCE'
Hollywood star JOHNNY DEPP is so shocked by the riots raging through France, he's considering abandoning his home in the country.
The FINDING NEVERLAND heart-throb moved to Europe when life in Los Angeles became too violent.
He has since divided time between the two continents - but he fears France will be scarred permanently by the current troubles.
He says, "It's insane, that setting cars on fire is the new strike.
"I went there (to France) to live because it seemed so simple.
"Now it's anything but. I don't know how they'll recover from this."
Oh my gosh... There were riots in the same country with him. The horrors.
This guy should really come to New Orleans. He whining that he saw some riots on TV from his palatial french villa and we're still finding bodies down here. If this is how he reacts to a few riots, he'd be calling suicide prevention if he lived down here. Reality sinks huh Johnny?
What a freaking self-absorbed idiot.

Depp and Paradis moved to France to bring up their children because he said LA was too violent. Has he become disenchanted after the recent riots and curfews that spread out from Paris? "It's insane that setting cars on fire is the new strike. It takes a lot away. I'm sure it'll clear up to a certain degree, but now we are based back in LA because I have work here. I went there [to France] to live because it seemed so simple. Now it's anything but. I don't know how they'll recover from this."
Yeah I think if my partner was French I would choose France over LA hands down. It's not uncommon for people to live where there partner is from. DUH!!! It's a beautiful country and yes, I am sure there is less violence there than in LA even with these riots. I would raise my kids there verses LA in a heartbeat if I had the money. The fact remains however that he never gave up his home in the States and has no intention of doing so. I think that speaks for itself. Who wouldn't be upset if these things were happening in the country where they live??? Will he give up his home in France because of it, not a chance. People over look the fact that they were already living in France when their children were born. They didn't move there for that reason...it was an added bonus.

Okay, B. Payne, so I read the link you provided. Prior to getting to the paragraph you cited from the web article you have to go through the description of Depp's pre-Paradis self-destructive behavior in his earlier life. So, I guess since he has had an epiphany, cleaned himself up and now has a family Depp is privileged to stand aghast that his life in France is not quite the way he wrote the script. Funny how his take on the riots "raging" through France does not jive with the spin of the French government itself. He makes me laugh. I hope he finds piece of mind in a third piece of property in Switzerland.

It is NOT unusual for one news organization to use anothers interview as a source!
Case in point: Here is CNN's report about Depp moving to France. NOTE CNN acknowledges the use of an interview a German news magazine did with Deppas CNN's source.
Johnny Depp: U.S. is like a stupid puppy
BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- Hollywood star Johnny Depp said on Wednesday the United States was a stupid, aggressive puppy and he would not live there until the political climate changed.
The 40-year-old actor, who stars in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean,' told the German news magazine Stern he was happier staying in the south of France with his wife, the French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis, and their two children.
'America is dumb, it's like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive,' he said.
'My daughter is four, my boy is one. I'd like them to see America as a toy, a broken toy. Investigate it a little, check it out, get this feeling and then get out,' said the star of the off-beat films Edward Scissorhands and Dead Man.
Depp slammed George W. Bush's administration for its criticism of French opposition to the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
'I was ecstatic they re-named 'French Fries' as 'Freedom Fries'. Grown men and women in positions of power in the U.S. government showing themselves as idiots,' he told Stern.

What I think most posters are actually referencing and or laughing about Depp is his Anti-American statement he made which is FAR more than LA is too violent.
He said: 'America is dumb, it's like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive'
It appears that Depp did not realize the USA is not the only place the 'Human Condition' exists. He looked down his 'Elite' nose and thought he and France was SO SUPERIOR. Sucks for him to be proven WRONG! The Human Condition all over the world are basically the same.

What I cannot understand about Johnny Depp is how he could not have known how serious the problems and the discontent of French muslims are. It makes the news here, does it not make the news in France? Is it possible that he didn't know that first, second and third generation immigrants in France are living in such deplorable conditions?

Let look at the bigger picture here.
This story is emblematic of the future of those who try to run away from the problems of the world.
First the US is too dangerous, then France. This (at least in the mind of Jacques Chirac anyway) is a major public figure, a celebrity, declaring that both Western superpowers are too dangerous to live in. So where does Depp (or anyone on the loony Left) go now that these two safe havens aren't safe ? Depp is experiencing first hand the future of those who flee from the world's problems (like Iraq). Depp can run, but he can't hide. A life on the run from those who will not negotiate.
First they came for the Republicans, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Republican;
Then they came for the conservatives, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a conservative;
Then they came for the libertarians, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a libertarian;
Then they came for the moderates, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a moderate;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
