Snatching Defeat From the Jaws of Victory- Democrat Style

Conservative author and private citizen Ann Coulter:

'Raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences.'

You would think that would be great news for Democrats. But maybe not...

Democratic former VEEP, party Presidential nominee and Dem Party leader Al Gore.

Former Vice President Al Gore told a mainly Saudi audience on Sunday that the U.S. government committed "terrible abuses" against Arabs after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and that most Americans did not support such treatment.

Gore said Arabs had been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held in "unforgivable" conditions. .

"The thoughtless way in which visas are now handled, that is a mistake," Gore said during the Jiddah Economic Forum.

Gore told the largely Saudi audience, many of them educated at U.S. universities, that Arabs in the United States had been "indiscriminately rounded up, often on minor charges of overstaying a visa or not having a green card in proper order, and held in conditions that were just unforgivable."

"Unfortunately there have been terrible abuses and it's wrong," Gore said. "I do want you to know that it does not represent the desires or wishes or feelings of the majority of the citizens of my country."

That's Al Gore's problem. The majority of the citizens of his country don't agree with him. Given the choice of erring on the side of offending Arabs or erring on the side of reducing national security, the people of America would rather the former. Adding to the Dems problems, Ann Coulter probably has 10% name recognition on the streets of America. (If she's lucky.) Al Gore is one of the Top 10 faces of the Dem party.

They both said stupid things. But in their stupidity they gave us a snapshot into the national debate right now. And why Dems keep losing.

I'll agree with Al Gore when you agree that holding their hands and talking about bluebonnets is the right thing to do. But I don't support Saudi Arabia and it's history of human rights abuses, nor do I support the human rights abuses under this administration.

Saying that though, Gore makes some good points. The US did indeed committ terrible abuses against Arabs after 9/11. Guantanamo is unforgiveable. But I can't really speak for the specific round-up cases within the country re: visas.

But back to my main point, statements like this: "Given the choice of erring on the side of offending Arabs or erring on the side of reducing national security, the people of America would rather the former."

All I'm saying is put up some facts or evidence. Last I saw, most Americas are against torture. But hey, if this Jay "The Jizzer" Tea says it, he must be an expert. (By the way, by this blog's own definition, Jay Tea molests boys. "molest: to harass: annoy continually or chronically")

How do you define torture?

I'm against torture, but I haven't heard of any examples by the US. No, harmless water boarding is far from "torture." Nor is sleep deprivation or Christina Aguilara music.

Nor have I heard anything about Guantanamo that is "unforgivable." In fact, the Dems who actually went there had good things to say about it. You're not talking about the bogus stories of Koran desecration, are you? --or the one accidental piss splatter?

al-gore goes to the country that 1) has one of the worst human rights record in the globe; 2) has supported the worldwide spread of the murderous Wahabbists Muslim cult; 3) has violently refused to allow the practice of any other religion on its soil; 4) has, as favorite sons, some of the worst terrorists the world has seen, including OBL and 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers, in order to critcize the US government for scrutinizing illegal Arab immigrants post 9/11. This is priceless. He's agitating violence against US citizens.

If Gore can't decide what's real and what isn't, what happened and what didn't, is it really any wonder that his own home state voted for George Bush?

Curiously, it seems that the bin Laden family was part of the group that paid for Gore's trip. Of course, the family has public announced that they've disowned Osama, but they've also publicly stated that they were informed shortly before 9-11 that something big was about to happen.

All I'm saying is put up some facts or evidence. Last I saw, most Americas are against torture. But hey, if this Jay "The Jizzer" Tea says it, he must be an expert.

It was Paul that produced the post, and he expressed an opinion about the leanings of the public.

Then you said,

Guantanamo is unforgiveable.

and then Denny Crane spanked you with

So you change the tune to this,

Listen, I can't step you through the last few years of news. Clearly you don't want to hear things - but maybe there is some hope. Have you heard of Abu Gharib?

Even though you demand proof from others for their statements, you don't feel the need to back yours up with substance. Somehow, the abuses at Abu Gharib, hardly amounts to "terrible abuses against Arabs after 9/11", more like an isolated incident that was investigated and those responsible held accountable.

Yep, you're just a little slow . . .
