As usual, your post is ill-informed. I watched coveage on CNN, Fox Local news in NYC and MSNBC and ALL showed the mexican flags, Che t-shirts and pro-Reconquista signs.
You post referred to you having a point. What is it? My suspicion is that it's more towing of the party line that the MSM is the new public enemy #1
However misguided the protests were, please stop attaching an agenda to every story the MSM covers without a more thorough analysis of the facts.

It wouldn't fit in with their plans of ruining the country the way THEY want it ruined. As a side note, a poll was taken here in NC about amnesty, guest worker visas, ect. 37% voted for all out deportation. Anybody else have a poll they would like to share?

Oh yeah... that's right... the illegal ("undocumented") aliens ("immigrants") didn't work or shop yesterday.
That way, we can see how the economy would react to their absence.
And this morning, a stunned public collectively said, "Oh. Was that yesterday?"
The best bit I heard from the whole thing was a woman who said, "We don't support open borders, we just want amnesty for everyone who is here already, and for anyone else who wants to come here in the future."
The worst part is this: Thousands upon thousands of illegals gathered in giant groups, chanting and singing and waving signs.
Why weren't they... I don't know... ARRESTED and DEPORTED?!?!?!?

Get out of the city and off the liberal blogs and talk to those who live in middle America, who don't qualify for aid but don't make enough money and just barely scrape by. I am a military spouse living in VA and even though I'm working on my Ph.D, I will not receive in-state tutition because my husband is a legal resident of NV. However, the illegal immigrants who attend college in the Commonwealth do receive it for their entire tenure at the various public institutions of higher learning. We military folks only get it for one year. The illegals are taking much more than they give in my opinion as the ER's are filled with them on weekends (I'm an ER nurse as well). I went out of my way yesterday to do all my shopping including a new washer because I wanted to show them that they have no impact on me. Rob & Lee,
You always present illogical arguments..you're hardly worth mentioning.
You wait until election time for those representatives requesting amnesty. Just as Cate mentioned, everyday Americans go without Medicare treatment in deference to freeloading invaders. My sister-in-law is one of those going without. She has three children, one with leukemia, two with Celiac disease and she herself suffers from a rare disease. Her husband left her once the medical bills started piling up, and she does not qualify for aid because she lives with her parents. Of course she could lie on the paperwork, but that is not the American way. Instead, she pays those medical bills $100 a month with the little child support that her ex-husband was forced by the government to provide. How many Latinos do that?
I was watching Telemundo and Univision last night (I'm fluent in Spanish) and I never heard a word on the economic drain these illegals are on our society. Instead, they showed march after march of illegal supporters in other countries and compared this to the MLK era. The radio DJs were touted as heroes and latinos celebrated as the "backbone of America". They are not the "backbone" but rather the backbreaker. This infestation will never stop if we continue to concede ground.
Ilegales estan matando la alma de los Estados Unidos. La lucha ha empezado por la preservacíon de los derechos Americanos. Ganaremos, guarantizado.

If you really liked the USA, you would have done the same yesterday. BTW I think that those who believe that people who come here illegally, demand the rights and voting rights of citizens either born here or naturalized have a lot of well you know whats. I think it's ridiculous for people who break the law to demand that everyone bend to their whims. Next time I get a speeding ticket I'm going to as for amnesty since it appears to be working for illegals. I am very upset at the way President Bush has handeled the border but Bubba did nothing with it either. I think that what we ought to do is secure the border, send back those who were marching with Mexican and other country flags, the criminals (there are a lot of them here who are illegal---yes I know there are plenty of our own citizens who commit crimes). Also, don't forget to thank those who serve for your right to speak out. Also, you can ignore my posts all you would like but at the same time I think that is a ridiculous statement.

With all due respect, I don't believe it's the Mexicans that ruined their country, it's the government. It is the failure of the people to stand up and change it yes, that much is true. Reform needs to start in Mexico for Mexican people, not in America for Mexican people.
Then again, it's been obvious since the onset that these people have no desire to improve living conditions back home. When things are bad, it's much easier to just leech off of another country and expect to be rewarded for it.

Hello, I would like to add my 2c.
I am not an citizen of the United States so I am not all that familiar with your issues. I have read up on this one although :)
Anywhoo my point is that all of you should metaphorically stop shitting where you eat.
I am sure there are legitimate reasons against immigration but I also see a lot of thinly veiled racist drivel in the comments. Any legitimate complaints against Immigration/amnesty I see are tainted by the immediate horseshit that follows. I.e.
"Just as Cate mentioned, everyday Americans go without Medicare treatment in deference to freeloading invaders. How many Latinos do that?"
First of all, I am sorry that your sister is having a hard time. But life does suck and shit does happen. I have a major issue with what you are trying to illogically link together though..
The problems with your sister's health and medicare: It is not the immigrant's fault that everyday Americans go without healthcare. They are not consuming all of your medicine and taking up all of your doctors time. Think about the costs of medicine and doctor's appointments, are immigrants rich? As the robots say.. does not compute.
The current government policy of the leaders you elected or had previously elected that determine medical healthcare in your country.
Your bigotry assumes that immigrants are a bunch of sickly freeloaders invading your country. I am sure that as with anything the actual immigrants are a mix of people/choices. Some immigrants are probably hard workers and others are shiftless bastards. It all depends on the person, you cannot lump together people under a single title/label. Thats called being a stereotyping asshat.
That touches on my second point. 99% of Americans, despite living there for X generations are immigrants. You all came here from Europe, Russia, etc.
Unless you are native, technically the United States of America is not your country of origin but your country of naturalization. Yet, Americans have a double standard when it comes to their ancestor's immigration. And despite what many of you probably will state in your rebuttals; many many people came from Europe to America illegally as stowaways and refugees. Your fledling country at the time welcomed them and helped them.
Whatever happened to
"Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Huddled Masses?"
Whats different from the immigrants of that time to the immigrants of now. Is it because they arent white?
Listen up, no one wants to move out of their home, their country of origin. But horrible terrible shit happens all over the world, and especially people with growing families want a safe and secure place to raise their children. Its the same as what you want.
If America suddenly imploded in internecine violence, many of you would have to face the painful decision of emigration. So please, have a little heart and try to understand although your experience with war, famine and all that wonderful stuff is limited.
Yes. America has an illegal immigration problem, contributing and spilling over to other social problems. However, the underlying issue behind this immigration problem is two fold. Your immigration policy (which I have fully read) is obtuse and non-sensical at times. The (lack thereof) enforcement of borders and lack of funding in related departments also add to the problem. Its an issue you should research and find a solution to. But instead all I witness is finger pointing and demonization of immigrants.
Oh yeah, and i think the immigrants not working for a day is counterproductive to their cause. And just plain silly.
**Hate Rant**
And to the person/troll (tim) that wrote What has Mexico ever contributed to humanity?
What have you contributed to humanity? Other than the shit that comes out of your anus and your mouth? Also, grow some testicles, or at least let them decend and post your email.
You think you are so clever? You ass. I despise you.
**end of rant*

who will have the last laugh?
when the rest of the world becomes terrorists
and the americans are no longer safe...
When we take down all borders
and disarm patriarchy,
will you be fighting with your guns to defend false pretenses known as capitalism and inequality?
Is it scary to think that your wealth could be captured by non-white people?
Is it scary to think about your heritage, about the United states and all of its citizens as Immigrants of North America?
Are planes and towers scary to you?
Is it death that scares you
Or is it the loss of what you know as your personal American dream?
