Mohammad al Baradei in Bed with Iran

Michael Ledeen at The Corner links to Regime Change Iran, which has all the details about Mohammad El Baradei's being in cahoots with Iran. When one of the UN inspectors came to the conclusion that Iran was lying about its nuclear program, Iran demanded El Baradei fire him.

He did.

Read the report.

Update: Reuters reports on the story about the UN inspector, Chris Charlier, who has been denied access to Iran since he publicly commented on the UN inspectors' lack of freedom in Iran. Notice that one name is conspicuously missing from this article: Mohammad El Baradei, the head of the IAEA, who was responsible for denying Mr. Charlier access to Iran.

Typical democrat. Don't know much about the truth , facts or reality for that matter but will still knowingly repeat his party's lies , aka talking points. What you choose to ignore is that in fact WMD's as in Chemical Weapons have been and are still being found. What a joke the democrats are in the House especially the jackass from Mississippi arguing as if he were a lawyer for a terrorist that what was found posed no threat. What a bunch of shameless traitors the Dumbasscraps are. Line them up with the enemy , there is no difference.

In the MINORITY and OUT OF POWER FOREVER FOR THESE TRAITORS.

Could a B-52 accidently carpet bomb the U.N. on a work day. Well actually there is no work going on there so on a U.S. taxpayer welfare paid day.

I wish some of the dim-wits would float over to Captains Quarters and read the latest from the documents captured in Iraq. Not only did Saddam have WMD, he was building more every day (right up through 2002) with the help of our friends the Russians. I guess that would be asking too much of the lefties since it would require a reading level of the 2nd grade, at least. Now comprehension of what they read is something else they will never master. Takes at least a pea size brain like mine.

Scrapiron, you're a fucking psychopath. It's a densely populated part of New York. Let the record show that Scrapiron just advocated dropping bombs on American citizens.

And RobLACa advocates not just indiscriminate murder, but the execution of Democrats: Line them up with the enemy , there is no difference.

You okay with people on your blog saying these things, Kim? Jay Tea? Lorie? Anybody? Anybody want to tell these people why what they are saying is insane? Let them say what they want, but you should distance yourselves (and your blog) from these fucking lunatics.

Anyway...

If el Baradei is not doing his job impartially he should be fired.

Now please spin that into me issuing a categorical defense of the IAEA. Take your time.

Zelsdorf Ragshaft III:

Matt, I just love your over reaction to what Scrapiron posted. I guess you spend a lot of time over at Kos criticizing those who post over the top statements. I think what Scrapiron was indicating is the the UN is as useless as the tits on a boar. Hans Blix is a liar and El Baradei is, for one reason or another, in cahoots with those he is suppose to oversee. You do not have to do, underground, what should be transparent.

Zelsdorf, why would I read ... (Below threshold)
Totally Matt:

Zelsdorf, why would I read anything at Kos? Last I checked, though, they don't talk about lining up every Republican against a wall and shooting them. They don't talk about dropping bombs on the White House to kill their enemies. (And, if I'm mistaken and they do talk about that kind of thing, then they're as fucked in the head as Scrapiron.)

Your defense of Scrapiron is pathetic. He said he would like to drop bombs on the United Nations, which is in Manhattan. There are more Americans there than impotent foreign dignitaries (obviously). I know what people's opinions of the U.N. are, and believe that much of the criticism of it is well-founded. It sickens me that the only thing resembling an pan-global government straight-up sucks. To advocate killing them, though, makes Scrapiron a psychopath. But again I think he's just a DU troll trying to get someone to defend him so that he can say "HA! Stupid right-wing lunatics agreed with that crazy shit!"

As for not having "to do, underground, what should be transparent", I have no idea what you're talking about.

The IAEA and the UN are both a waste of time and money.

Think about how Japan is feeling right about now. They have been so well supported by the UN that they are talking about taking matters into their own hands.

These are the kinds of problems that we will continue to see if the people in IAEA and the UN don't start acting responsibly.

I don't want you to censor them, but only to make it clear that you think these people are fucked in the head so that you can retain an iota of credibility when you ridicule the leftist fever swamps. 'Cause as of right now, you don't seem to care much about your own credibility.

Exactly, Thor. Nobody needs to drop a nuclear bomb on Manhattan (sci-fi idea of physically moving the building to Nevada notwithstanding). Just withdraw funding until they decide that they're ready to act responsibly. And as for the IAEA, I like the idea of an objective and impartial inspection agency, so fire el Baradei and find a consensus replacement if the allegations against el Baradei are true.

But no, you're right, it's fun! Let's play that game. I'm going to fucking kill you! And your dog! And then I'm going to find out where your kids go to school! Nuke all red staters! Put 'em up against the wall!

HAHA, just kidding! Get it?! Me neither.

Lee, I had a very liberal friend take up an internship at the U.N.. She started as a junior policy analyst working with the nuclear and WMD non-proliferation portfolios, specifically Iran. After four months, she said she wanted to puke. "Iran shouldn't threaten to wipe Israel off the map. Can we agree?" "NOT UNTIL THE GENTLEMAN FROM MOLDOVIA HAS EXPLAINED HIS CONCERNS ABOUT THE GEOPOLITICAL CONSEQUENCES FOR MOLDOVIANS!" About a hundred people slouch in their seats, tune out for a bit, and then they have lunch. Nothing gets done.

I agree with you that we need something, but the U.N. needs to prove, soon I think, that it's up to any task.

Lee, that's probably the funniest yet saddest thing I've heard all day.

Any body that puts countries like Saudi Arabia and China on the Human Rights Council has no validity whatsoever. The UN is a joke.

And the world does not need a place for all countries to debate and/or dialog. Some countries don't deserve the right to be heard as equal members of the world community.

Committees are one of the major problems with the UN. They have a committee for everything.
The Arabs have a saying that "A camel is a horse made by a committee".

When a company or nation tries to operate on consenses, there almost always is a loss of effectiveness or direction. Consenses is nice but someone has to be responsible and make the final decision.

Bolton would make a good Secretary General. He has balls.

I don't deny that the U.N. needs a more assertive Secretary-General, Chuck. And I think having a committee for everything is stupid; hold some kind of internal election, where all members (who meet eligibility requirements--bye bye China, Iran, etc.) appoint small decision-making groups for the purpose of addressing humanitarian and security crises. When I said "big" committees, I meant big in importance, not in size. Large committees are anarchy, which is really fun when you're 17.

And as for whomever used my name, I guess I was a little more concerned about the desire to shoot and kill every Democrat, expressed by RobLACa and not identified as lunacy by anyone else other than the person to whom the threat was directed. So shaddappa yo face.

Even if the organization has never --- not one single time --- resolved a single problem and, in fact, does little more than coddle dictators and allow its "peacekeepers" to rape young girls?

Yeah, I can see why it's held in such high regard in the left. Makes perfect sense, I guess.

The fact that the republicans have been unable on several key points to rally world opinion in their favor is no reason to scrap the U.N.

The fact that they stole untold billions in the largest scam in history isn't?

Yeah, I don't like to be personally threatened over the internet, what with the recent surge of right-wingers calling for the disclosure of personal information of people they don't like (as well as one very stupid leftist professor).

Yeah. Ask Michelle Malkin how it feels to have her HOME ADDRESS posted on leftie blogs.

Ask the SBVT guys how it feels to have THEIR personal info posted on Huffington Post --- and the Post refused to remove it when they asked. It took ANOTHER news site to get them to finally take the info down.

Who has revealed the addresses of the leftie bloggers?

SilverBubble, a functional U.N. (speaking purely hypothetically, obvs) would have sensible membership criteria, especially for the big committees and councils.

Which means you have to drastically reduce the membership, as the thugs will simply band together and get what they want passed.

hold some kind of internal election, where all members (who meet eligibility requirements--bye bye China, Iran, etc.) appoint small decision-making groups for the purpose of addressing humanitarian and security crises.

Since an ungodly large number of UN members have human rights records that border on criminal, you have no option, whatsoever, to do this without kicking out most of the members.

Which defeats the purpose of the UN.

Again, if the Islamic states will band together, Israel will be allowed to be threatened with destruction regularly. Heck, the UN has maps they proudly display that shows a state of Palestine and NO state of Israel.

Where are those maps, Mike? Are they historical relics from the early part of the 20th century?

As for conservatives having an affinity towards thuggish intimidation tactics, Glenn Greenwald has some examples (I'm tired and lazy, and it's late):

http://glenngreenwald.blogspot.com/2006/07/thug-and-intimidation-tactics-of-far.html

Even the lazy ideologues at the NRO are getting in on the action: http://media.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YmRiMjNiMDI3N2FjNGFmMzk1OGVlMzliNGZmN2Y2NzM

Leftist bloggers who do it too are just as bad, but for what it's worth I don't see too many of even the nuttiest commentators on the left expressing a desire to kill all of their conservative foes.

virgo1, you are hell-bent on turning every discussion into a food fight, which is boring. You just blamed the state of the war against Islam (I assume you meant jihadists/Islamofascists/whatever you wish to call them, and not Islam as such) on the Democrats. And are you okay with the potential destruction of the U.N. at the hands of the Arab terrorists that you say it bends over backwards to appease? You sound like an anthropomorphised hyena on speed.

Totally Matt:

Well that's another good example of why the U.N. needs tectonic restructuring, Mike. I haven't defended the organization in this thread, except for stating that in principle I think an effective multilateral organization designed for dealing with international crises is a good idea.

Over in the leftist fever swamps I'm sure I'll find people blaming Bush for 9/11 and all kinds of craziness, but I don't think I'll find people bemoaning the fact that they can't just line up every right-winger and shoot them.

But then having an argument over which pack of stoopids is stoopider is stooooopid. =)
