Hmmm.
All kidding aside this is one massively strange story.
Frankly it reminds me, in a way, of some guy here in NYC who ends up being the go-to guy for any man-on-the-street stories. You don't actually get the independent viewpoint of a random person. You get the viewpoint of a guy that's in the rolodex of most NYC reporters.
I really have to wonder just how many sources are legitimate? And if people are willing to publish based on the sourcing from someone who doesn't exist but did make the effort to present a facade, then what about all those stories that depend on an "unnamed source"?

Looks like CHB has a long history of creating bogus quote sources, then when they're uncovered, apologizing and claiming they were hoodwinked.
Even looks like their on-and-off again publisher, once brought in to clean up the mess, then fired, then rehired, may himself not exist. Ditto their 'ombudsman' and their 'panel of journalists'.
And it continues, with a new crop of 'political scientists" being quoted.
Probably just one guy with a dozen sock pupets, working in his undershorts, in his mom's basement.

Wow, is Karl Rove brilliant or what? He plants a few damning quotes in the media for the bigger payout, proof that the left is full of B.S. It's so obvious, this is just more of the same tactic he used to set up Dan Rather with MemoGate.

So basically one of the most damaging (and libelous) stories of the 2004 campaign -- Bush was (is) acting unstable -- was a complete fabrication supported by a source that also is a complete fabrication. And this was a story that ran big in the MSM.
