Why John Kerry Lost The Election

and why he won't win if he runs again.

Kerry knocks Bush on handling of Mideast conflict

U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D- Mass., who was in town Sunday to help Gov. Jennifer Granholm campaign for her re-election bid, took time to take a jab at the Bush administration for its lack of leadership in the Israeli-Lebanon conflict.

"If I was president, this wouldn't have happened," said Kerry during a noon stop at Honest John's bar and grill in Detroit's Cass Corridor.

Bush has been so concentrated on the war in Iraq that other Middle East tension arose as a result, he said.

"The president has been so absent on diplomacy when it comes to issues affecting the Middle East," Kerry said. "We're going to have a lot of ground to make up (in 2008) because of it."

OK, Which part would he have prevented? Would he have prevented Hezbollah from being terrorists and kidnapping 2 Israelis or would have have held some Svengali type mind grip on the Israelis and prevented them from retaliating?

This is the exact reason the voters of the United States did not elect him. He can't be trusted.

But his delusions only get deeper. I remind you above he said, "The president has been so absent on diplomacy when it comes to issues affecting the Middle East..."

But here is the Kerry solution:

"This is about American security and Bush has failed. He has made it so much worse because of his lack of reality in going into Iraq....We have to destroy Hezbollah," he said.

HUH? Bushed failed at "diplomacy" but we need to "destroy" Hezbollah?

He was for destroying Hezbollah before he was against it.

Hezbullah only smuggled those 15,000 missiles into Lebanon IN CASE Bush was elected! If Kerry had been elected they would have sent them straight back!! Peace would reign worldwide, leaves would fall DIRECTLY into trash bins, and underwear would NEVER chafe in the heat!!

Dammit...if we had only known!!

That's pretty impressive. Not quite Gore-level, but still pretty damn flacky.

I'd be kinda impressed to find out how we're supposed to be able to counter Hezbollah so completely. I mean, they're being funded and trained by Iran and Syria, same as the Iraqi terrorists, and last I checked, Kerry's great plan for dealing with Iraq was to turn tail and run. He come up with a genius fix since then?

I actually do suspect that, if he had won the 2004 elections, we wouldn't be seeing Israel and Lebanon tussling. We'd instead be laughed at by the whole of the UN as we talked about Iran's nuclear program, and told to focus on the subject at hand - reparations to the Iraqi people through Oil-for-Food II.

Let's just cut to the chase -- there is no John Kerry. John Kerry died in Vietnam and someone stole his dogtags and has been pretending to be him ever since. This imposter is a paranoid schizophrenic with multiple personalities and probably an advanced case of Tourette's thrown in. The 'flip flops' that 'Kerry' is always accused of are simply the various personalities emerging to give their varied viewpoints on issues. Unfortunately, in Massachusetts, no one can tell the difference.

Hey, it makes a lot more sense when you look at it that way. Next week, I'll figure out who Howard Dean really is.

The president has been so absent on diplomacy when it comes to issues affecting the Middle East," Kerry said. "We're going to have a lot of ground to make up (in 2008) because of it."

Kerry is laying the groundwork for the dems to fail in the middle east and elsewhere because it still will be Pres. Bush's fault.

For a party with a new direction it seems they too know that they will fail ... so they are laying the "groundwork" to lay blame any where but on themselves.

Megan, yet these are the people who look at Bush being in office for approximately 9 months when 9/11 happened and think it's all his fault, even though Clinton had 8 years to build up to that point.

I guess it's a one-way street on their planet.

Granholm is in big trouble and rightly so. Even a visit by the real JFK would not save her.

Granholm, a liberal, said recently that it is George Bush and the oil companies that have the Michigan economy tanked, while almost all the rest of the country is booming.

Three years ago, when we had record auto sales and profits, the Michigan unemployment rate was almost 8%, so it is far more than just autos.

Rather than cut any of those great government workers union jobs, Granholm raised the tobacco tax by 400% and added a "Driver's responsibility fee, that adds $400- $3000 to the price of most tickets, to balance the budget. Here, they have special enforcement weeks, when all cops race from place to place handing out as many tickets as possible. The worse it gets, the more tickets get issued.

When, gee, people started to buy smokes on the internet, she set up an army of lawyers to sue the Post Office, UPS, the internet companies and anyone else they could think of to get names of people buying smokes online. Bills for thousands of dollars each are going out to senior citizens on social security who didn't know the Governor was on a jihad against smokers. Proposals and bills have been written to do this for booze and Big Mac's also.

The Governor wants to eliminate the profits from "Big Oil" to boot, which, the last I knew, was about 6-8 cents per gallon. This is the economics of Jimmy Carter, and John Kerry.

In Michigan, we do not have to ask what Kerry would have done, we know - raise taxes & kill the economy. Do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for me.

Robert,

Nice summary of our problems here in Michigan. If DeVos wins, we will have a Republican governor, House, Senate, Secretary of State, Attorney General and a majority on the Supreme court.

It won't solve our problems, but at least it will be a start. The fact that we are ground zero for big union labor will take a long time to overcome. That every job we ship to another state because of high labor costs, eliminates a union job escapes their understanding.

Also, with fact that we have Republican majorities in our House and Senate and our congressional delegation, how the heck does Michigan elect such liberal whackjobs like Levin or Stabenow?

Oh, and it's "Honest Johns Bar and NO Grill". A Detroit institution, no surprise the press couldn't even get the name of the bar right.

DeVos must win, or we are cooked. I do not underestimate the power of the governor's office in Michigan.

The insurance industry is suffering retribution from the Engler days, and here's something I ran into yesterday: A researcher, Kate Walsh, placed Michigan tied for last place in strength of teacher certification programs.

The unions have an open door with this Governor and they run rampant with the departments.

The economy sucked when Engler took office too, but he cut taxes and government and we were back fairly quickly.
