Well, at least this Bush-hater is not in America. (See update below: She does live in America, this speech was just not in America.)
NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren. When I read that last line it made me wonder which George Bush she wanted to kill. If children in Iraq have cancer as a result of the first Gulf War isn't someone else to blame, besides George Bush? I wonder if the children in the audience were as confused as I am.Campaigning on the rights of young people at the Earth Dialogues forum, being held in Brisbane, Ms Williams spoke passionately about the deaths of innocent children during wartime, particularly in the Middle East, and lambasted Mr Bush.
"I have a very hard time with this word 'non-violence', because I don't believe that I am non-violent," said Ms Williams, 64.
"Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.
"I don't know how I ever got a Nobel Peace Prize, because when I see children die the anger in me is just beyond belief. It's our duty as human beings, whatever age we are, to become the protectors of human life."
Ms Williams was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 30 years ago, when she circulated a petition to end violence in Northern Ireland after witnessing British soldiers shoot dead an IRA member who was driving a car. He veered on to the footpath, killing two children from one family instantly and fatally injuring a third.
Ms Williams's petition had tens of thousands of Protestant and Catholic women walking the streets together in protest. Now the former office receptionist heads the World Centres of Compassion for Children International, a non-profit group working to create a political voice for children.
"My job is to tell you their stories," Ms Williams said of a recent trip to Iraq.
"We went to a hospital where there were 200 children; they were beautiful, all of them, but they had cancers that the doctors couldn't even recognise. From the first Gulf War, the mothers' wombs were infected.
Update: The article did not mention it, but a reader alerted me that Betty Williams lives in Florida and has for a while. I should have guessed as much.
Update 2: This is hardly new sentiment for Williams. She's been repeating the same line since at least 2003...

Yes, this may be in Ireland but I've wondered how long before we see the kook left fringe in this country go completely nuts and start acting out their frustrations in violent ways.
If they fail to gain control of Congress this year (and I predict they'll actually lost a few seats in both chambers) I think you'll start seeing some of this happening.
I joke a lot about the left and their inability to live in the real world, but when you see stuff like this it makes you realize how serious this culture battle really is and that we must win it.

She does live in America, teaches at a University in Florida and runs an International Children's Fund. I guess she trains them to assassinate Presidents during recess.

I love the second update link there to Lisa Boyd's story. Apparently Hitler was a good person inside, he just made bad choices. Betty has the same schitck and AlGOre is enlightening. I wonder if this babe was channeling Peace Moonbeam (who has gone missing).

Shouldn't the Nazi president have her picked up and made to disappear. If he was what they have in their confused (mentally retarded)minds there would be several thousand people simply disappear. Maybe a wood chipper or blast furnace would take care of them, it that doesn't work there is always the dog food plant, it they aren't scared of driving the dogs crazy by eating the brains of crazy people. The left gets crazier as every day goes by. I'm going to have my grand daughter change her major and become a whacko dr. She will have millions of new customers (crazies) in 2008, just in time to open a new office.

Kirktoe, you are insane! Liberals will start acting out their frustrations in violent ways? Where do you thnk you live, in some freaking Third World country where politics is driven by pure hatred..?
Mmmm... well... maybe given the type posts by people on the right -like Scrapiron above- you aren't so insane after all.

Hey f-n,
Care to give us your thoughts on what the actual post is about and the person who said it?
I know you like to decry most of the posters here, but how about using that insight of yours to someone who is not on the right. A person who is clearly insane when she mentions that she would like to kill George Bush.

Her organization is located in Gulf Breeze way out on the panhandle near Pensacola. It surprises me a bit because Florida doesn't turn much blue until you get further south. Maybe that's why she prefers Orlando to hold her "youth rallies".

So she lives in Florida, says she'd like to kill George Bush, and the Secret Service isn't investigating her (or if they are, they're keeping it damn quiet, since I can't find a link)?
Why isn't this loathsome wench rotting in jail right now? Oh, riiiiggghhtt - she's "speaking truth to power," or "bravely exercising her right to dissent" or "crying out for justice" or "she doesn't represent mainstream Democrats" or whatever excuse you pathetic asshats plan to use to excuse this vile bitch. Hell, why not go all the way? If she plays her cards right, she might get to sit next to the Peanut Farmer and the Syphilitic Hillbilly at the next Democrat National Convention.

So she lives in war-torn Northern Ireland, wins the Nobel Peace Prize, and uses the money to move to the United States -- instead of working to bring lasting peace to Northern Ireland. OK, I have an already low opinion of her.
Now she threatens a living President, although it's unclear which President Bush she wants to kill.
Two suggestions:
1. As she already has experience with Protestant-Catholic violence, then I suggest that she should pass out petitions in Baghdad to end the Sunni-Shiite violence.
2. If she's not a US citizen, deport her. If she is, revoke her citizenship or prosecute her.

Threatening to kill the President of the United States or advocating that someone else do it is an egregious violation of FEDERAL LAW and should be punished. Someone should make sure that the Secret Service is POUNDED until they deal with this clueless moonbat firmly and publicly! Good way to stop some of this loose and brainless verbiage.

I wonder if Ms. Williams realizes that before the US lead invasion there were about 5000 women and children starving to death every month in Iraq?
Sure some childern do die in wars. A tremendously smaller number are dying today in Iraq than what there would have been had we not invaded.
Ms. Williams sounds like a typical lefty- blinded by hate and living in self-induced ignorance.
