Unhinged Dems May Lose It

In my column at Townhall today I look at the conventional wisdom that Democrats will trounce Republicans in November and consider how some of their unhinged like Dean, Murtha and Sheehan make that outcome less likely than most believe.

Had I not already written the column before news of the thwarted UK terror plot broke, I could have included some additional material on all the brilliant Democrat quotes about the NSA surveillance program. Those should make for some mighty fine GOP ads this fall.

Premature predictions of a Democratic landslide, coupled with the Lamont win, could lull (or even embolden) Democrats into making additional unguarded, and potentially harmful, statements

Lorie, If the lefties that now seem to drive the direction of the Democratic Party do not espouse their kookery during election time, than that means they never really believed it themselves’.

That’s highly unlikely since the lefties condescendingly pat each other on the heads everyday for having the depth of understanding of these conspiracies within the walls of their blogs, so hopefully this will embolden them to get up on the stump and share this insight out in the open on behalf of all Democrats.

The fun part will be watching any Democrat try to distance themselves from the kook fringe then becoming a target for reprimand for not keeping rhythm in this lefty goose-step parade.

Please scroll down two articles to “MORE TERRORISM UPDATES” Then down to Update lll where it says “According to Time, the US overheard the terrorists' chatter and shared it with the UK intelligence officials.

In the article there is this little gem:

In the two or three days before the arrests, the cell was going operational, and authorities were pressed into action. MI5 and Scotland Yard agents tracked the plotters from the ground, while a knowledgeable American official says U.S. intelligence provided London authorities with intercepts of the group's communications.

I’m not sure how you think this bolsters your first point. But if you have actually read how this went down you will discover also that this group had been infiltrated by intelligence sources.

You know “spies”, the same ones Democrats thought unnecessary in these times of electronic surveillance.

But obviously the premature threat level elevation would have caused the infiltration to be exposed.

He/she/it is a fool. A clueless fool and a useful tool of the Islamofascists and their friends in the Democratic party. The childish whinging spewing forth from he/she/it illustrates so eloquently this persons lack of understanding and just how detached from reality they truly are. It also serves to illustrate that rationality and logic are not terms that cam be used in reference to he/she/it.

Apparently our clueless fool MyPetGloat does not understand that intelligence agencies of various countries work together in order to attempt to stop international acts of terror of this nature. Our little clueless fool MyPetGloat also does not grasp the simple logic of not tipping your hand about things of this nature in order to avoid the wannabe shahids from running and giving the police/security forces time to be in position to capture as many as they can. Our clueless fool MyPetGloat would be out celebrating with his Islamofascist friends if this had succeeded because that *might* make Bush look bad, too.

Clueless fools such as MyPetGloat are poster children for the fact that liberalism is truly a mental disorder.

Sheesh, are lefties really this stupid? All the news organizations are reporting the U.S was monitoring this terrorist cell’s communications.

Where in the hell are you trying to read into this? Are you trying to tell us that if someone here (domestically) calls this cell or visa versa that we shouldn’t listen in because then it’s domestic?

No dummy, you know very well (or do you?) that I was referencing to an “on going plot” and not speaking about methods in a general term.

Hell, we know terrorists could stick bombs up their rear ends since 1995 also but no one is getting anal probes at the airport right now are they?

Try again, from the NSA Site

The National Security Agency/Central Security Service is America’s cryptologic organization. It coordinates, directs, and performs highly specialized activities to protect U.S. government information systems and produce foreign signals intelligence information. A high technology organization, NSA is on the frontiers of communications and data processing. It is also one of the most important centers of foreign language analysis and research within the government.

Available here

Oh, and the NSA Mission Statement

"The ability to understand the secret communications of our foreign adversaries while protecting our own communications -- a capability in which the United States leads the world -- gives our nation a unique advantage."

Executive Order 12333, dated 4 December 1981, describes the responsibility of the National Security Agency and the Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) in more detail. The resources of NSA/CSS are organized for the accomplishment of two national missions:

The Information Assurance mission provides the solutions, products, and services, and conducts defensive information operations, to achieve information assurance for information infrastructures critical to U.S. national security interests.

The foreign signals intelligence or SIGINT mission allows for an effective, unified organization and control of all the foreign signals collection and processing activities of the United States. NSA is authorized to produce SIGINT in accordance with objectives, requirements, and priorities established by the Director of Central Intelligence with the advice of the National Foreign Intelligence Board.

Available here, try a little reading . . .

You may notice that there is enough wiggle room in the statements on both pages to allow for domestic information gathering. Nothing specifically prohibits it!

Gloat, one final question before I take off.

Was it O.K. for the United States to monitor these communications of the terrorist cell that was just caught?

Even if 100% of these communications were monitored outside the U.S., it is still domestic in Britain. Don’t the British have the means to monitor communications, if so, why are we doing eavesdropping in a Western European ally country?

It’s a simple question. Is there any other lurking lefty out there that wants to take a stab at this question?

Inquiring minds want to know.
