Marching For A Caliphate

caliphate.jpg

This is hard to believe, but Moonbat Media posted the picture above, taken at a British anti-war protest, of a granny marching for a caliphate. Link via Michelle Malkin who has more. Does granny have a clue what that means?

Laura Lee Donoho reminds us that there would be no Project Runway in a caliphate. There would also be no cool Gap commercials with Audrey Hepburn dancing to AC/DC's "Back in Black." (Sorry for the strange reference, but I just saw that commercial while watching Prison Break and it is really cool.) In spite of the great importance of Project Runway and AC/DC music commercials, it is also worth mentioning that there would be no Easter or Christmas or Hannukah, nor any displays of female immodesty such as exposed ears or elbows. On the upside, there would likely be some new sports -- stoning and beheading come immediately to mind. I apologize for being so flip, but I just find it hard to believe there are people, little British grannies at that, ready to wecome a caliphate. Wake up people!

Be sure to check out the "faces" and "banners" at the Moonbat Media site.

Glad to see the conservative blogosphere is staying on top of the important issues of the day.

Ignore the military leaders who say Rumsfeld should be run out of town for gross derilection and mishandling of the Iraq War -- - let's track down the grannies with the protest signs instead.

"I believe that Secretary Rumsfeld and others in the administration did not tell the American people the truth for fear of losing support for the war in Iraq," retired Maj. Gen. John R. S. Batiste told a forum conducted by Senate Democrats.

A second military leader, retired Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton, assessed Rumsfeld as "incompetent strategically, operationally and tactically."

It's confirmed again - the Republicans lied... but look! There's a protester with a sticker on her sign. Whoo Hoo - we've got those Democrats on the run now --- LOL!

Someone who actually knows something about military affairs, not Lee, will need to tell us about these officers, their background, what proposals they urged Rumsfeld to take that he didn't, and why they believe it is wise to have a public dispute at a time of war.

Seems like the generals could find a better outlet for their concerns.

jpm said it. Lee just proved my point. Those on the left are so consumed with trying to destroy the Bush administration that they don't see what is happening in front to their eyes.

So, Lee, if about 10 times more generals and thousands more of lesser rank in the military come out in favor of Rumsfeld would that convince you that he was doing a great job, or do you only listen to those in the military who have something negative to say about the Bush administration? I can give you the names of quite a few in the military who would love to speak in favor of Rumsfeld and who are scared to death of what a Democrat controlled congress, would do and more so of a Democrat Commander in Chief. I doubt Lee would be interested in hearing from them though. For some strange reason those on the left disparage and discount everyone in the military except those who disagree with Bush. They are held up as infallible. In the meantime the jihad continues and Lee doesn't even see it.

Lorie, I'm not out to destroy the Bush administration -- not at all - -they don't need any help in that regard from me. The Bush administration went into self-destruction mode at the time of the Katrina disaster. All I'm doing is pointing out that time and time again the Republicans have lied to the American people, as retired Maj. Gen. John R. S. Batiste states in my quote above.

As to the continued Jihad - I see it, and as I stated 6 weeks ago (confirmed in the NY Times Sunday) the Republican efforts on the GWOT could not have been planned and executed in a worse manner, having the opposite effect of actually increasing terrorism instead of decreasing it.

So -- America's intelligence agencies have confirmed that the GWOT has failed -- retired military leaders are confirming that the adminstration has its head up its *ss - what's left?

Look - there's another 70 year granny with a protest sign, Lorie - hunt her down like an animal and make a mockery for all the world to see! Or, as some would wish - behead her first... how sick and pathetic you conservatives have become... how absolutely sick and pathetic.

Or, Lorie, you could do the honorable and patriotic thing and face up to the fact that you are a failing apologist for a failed administration and political party - and quit trying to shoot the messengers, like the white-haired granny above.

For shame, Lorie Byrd, for shame.

Again Lee is in the service of the terrorists whether he knows it or not. He is propagating the half truth from the lying and leaking NYT. Amazaing that the left has no concern about leaking classified materials (as done by the NYT wrt the NSA and now the NIE) when these benefit the terrorists. They faked outrage when the lies of their heroes Wilson are exposed.

Instead of condemning the NYT in aiding the terrorists, Lee simply try propagating them. He knew that he is lying so Lee is trying to project their own dishonesty on anyone who exposed their fraud.

She may or may not know it. But you are trying to use her as a cover for your typical smear against Lorie and not to deal with the obvious hypocrisy of the anti-war left.

YOu are simply dishonest in not addressing the point. You know that the left is utterly corrupt and dishonest. So all you can do is to distort and smear. That 's dishonest and you know it.

Lee,You did not addr... (Below threshold)
Lorie Byrd:

Lee,
You did not address the points I brought up. What would you say if every person in the military could be asked, by secret ballot, whether or not they support Bush, Rumsfeld, etc., or if they support the Dem plan for Iraq and the WOT, and about 80 percent supported the Bush plan over the Dem plan? What if 70 percent did? What about 60 percent? What about 50 percent? Would it matter to you if 95 percent chose the Bush plan over the Dems? I am just curious. How many in the military would you discount? I am just asking and haven't heard any answer.

As for me, I am glad that Bush and Rumsfeld do listen to those in the field and I am also glad they don't take the suggestions of everyone of them. There are conflicting opinions about the correct course of action. There is no way that everyone can be happy. There are people in the military with many different opinions and views. Some of them are smart and some (cough, Wesley Clark, cough) are dopey. Sorry, but they are human and all of them are not right. They are not all of one mind. You choose to believe and take as gospel anything said by someone in the military that disagrees with Bush, but then totally discount anything anyone that supports Bush says.

There were plenty of people in the military that disagreed with Bill Clinton's course of action in Somalia and his approach to the military in general. My husband was in the Marine Corps until shortly after Clinton was elected and many of his friends were in long after that and let me assure you that I do not know one person personally, either my husband or his friends or my cousin who was an Army Ranger or anyone else that did not think Clinton did terrible damage to the military. I know that there must be some Clinton fans in the military, but I have yet to meet one personally.

As with the NIE report, testimony of this general or that, is often cherry picked and taken out of context and reported as fact that the war on terror has been lost and worst. The rest of the report, or testimony is ignored completely. I will be interested to hear what else is included in the NIE report that is not being reported by the MSM.

As for the granny, click on the link. It will take you to a site that shows you there were more people present than just granny. I wish to God that it were only one misdirected granny, but that is not the case and you need to open your eyes to that. If you think this is such a ridiculous post, to point out how some people (probably good hearted with good intentions) have been convinced that a caliphate is not such a bad thing, then why waste your time reading it, much less commenting? Just curious.

I have two kids, now in bed (but one is sick and will no doubt be up soon), and a husband and a part time job and a life with cooking and laundry, etc. I don't have time to read everything on the internet everyday. I don't even have time to read all the comments everyday. Even if I did, I think I would choose to enjoy a bit of sunshine from time to time. Anyway, I don't post on everything. I got an email from Laura about the caliphate post at Michelle's site and was frankly shocked by it. You evidently are not. That is more shocking to me than the picture of granny. I really do fear for this country and this world and my fear is not of Donald Rumsfeld. Sorry to disappoint you, but I feel no shame. ("I feel no shame" is a line from a kick ass song, by the way, and now I won't be able to get the chorus out of my head.) Sorry guys, I really have to go to bed now.

Lee,
If you are honest, you would know that the granny there is a perfect description of people who are being used by the corrupt anti-war left. These are the "useful idiots" for the communist dictators and now the Islamic fascists. There are people there openly advocating caliphate. You either don't know it or simply ignore it.

Lee has again accomplished his goal - change the subject.

He mentions a few retired flag-rank officers who criticize Rumsfeld. He fails to mention there are over 7000 retired officers of such rank. Care to figure the percentages? Take a poll?

No, Lee wouldn't want to do those things. He would prefer to ascribe credibility to Wes Clark - who was FIRED by Clinton with only two months to go before his scheduled retirement, because he was directly insubordinate - and ignore the overwhelming consensus of military people, including flag-rank retirees, in support of Bush's policies.

"Granny" is the perfect symbol of the useful idiot. In the past, people like her have always been there to support "the revolution".

And they usually are the ones who are the most suprised when "the revolution" comes and the next thing they here is "shoot her".

The idiot Left thinks it is taken seriously by the real enemies of our civilization. Unfortunately for the Left, they are just being used as a tool by the enemy. When they are no longer needed, they will be ignored. If they complain, they will be shot, or beheaded, or imprisoned, or sent to "re-education" camps.

Sound familiar? Ask the Russians. Ask the Cubans. Ask the Vietnamese. Ask the Iraqis and the Afghans.

Buxton:

Journalists want to sell papers. That's really it. Do you really think that the NY Times actually was responsible for leaking information to itself? Some official or civil servant did that, knowing full well that journalists, long held to be the enemies of freedom, would publish it. Why? Because it sells papers. Heck, the President can classify anything he wants - don't we need someone to make sure he isn't full of crap, whether he be democrat or republican?

The administration has made several mistakes in Iraq that is cannot undo. It has created a reality for itself that is not favorable, and it has to deal with it. Many on the left say, "We shouldn't be there!" Well, I'm a moderate leftie, and I say, "Yes, we shouldn't, but we are there. We need to clean up this mess before we leave."

May I also mention that Iraq did not pose a significant threat to the existence of the America, or the hegemony of the Western world? That said, the committment of manpower and resources has left us weak in respect to dealing with problems that do pose a threat to those two things that make America strong (That is, our national identity and security, as well as our economic dominance)? We weren't unable to deal with Katrina, but the govt's response fell far short of its citizenry's expectations. Meanwhile, larger disasters loom. Fault lines criss-cross a state crucial to our economy and identity - California. A very major earthquake there would be disastrous (The 'Frisco quake doesn't count as "Very major"). Also, the increasing hostility towards illegal hispanic immigrants could lead to pogroms or a sudden whim to deport all 15 million of them at once. Either would have violent consequences which could ruin entire areas of the country. Could a military strewn across the world, with 115,000 of it's forces in Iraq. Tell me, is Iraq really worth $200 billion a year for 10, 15 years? By the time we're out, Saddam would already have been dead and gone.
