GE's Gadgetopia

GE launched a blog today, not one of those crappy corporate PR blogs, but a real blog with open comments, real authors, and talking about what's cool. They're blogging from Wired's NEXTfest in New York, a conference dedicated to cool new technologies and gadgets.

What set's GE's experiment apart from the typical boring corporate blog is that they've integrated an unedited Flickr stream, and they're not only writing about GE products, but other cool stuff they find at the show.

If multi-billion dollar companies are going to have blogs they might as well operate like real weblogs, instead of sterile, cautious, pseudo press release mills. Good on GE for giving the rough and tumble world of blogs a go...
