Harold Ford's opponent in Tennessee, Bob Corker, is dishonest enough to fit right into the Republican culture of corruption.

CHATTANOOGA - As a private investor, Bob Corker lost more than $1 million in a speculative Internet venture he shared with Delta Capital Management, a Memphis investment firm.

Undeterred, Corker courted Delta when he became Chattanooga's mayor, opening a door that allowed the firm to get $1 million in Chattanooga city employee pension funds in 2004 to invest in startup companies.

The pension investment, while still in its early stages, is down 12 percent, according to a June 30 performance report.

Corker, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, said he played no role in awarding pension funds to Delta and wasn't even present for the January 2004 pension board vote approving the investment.

Yet, City Hall e-mail messages show Corker met frequently with Delta, went golfing with its general manager, and encouraged the firm's quest for a share of public pension funds.

In all fairness to Corker, who cares about city employee's pensions when it comes to an opportunity for graft and corruption? As Chattanooga's Mayor, Corker did those employees a big favor mismanaging their pension efforts that way. Now they can be keep their jobs longer, waiting for retirement to come around. Yes sir, that Corker is a doer.

Not only did Corker the Clown make a bad investment, he went on to make sure the City of Chattanooga pension plan made the same, stupid, bonehead mistake that he himself made. Is this the kind of goofball idiot that Tennessee wants as their representative?

Don't worry about Lee, the DNC will quit paying his group next week so they can go back on welfare, or continue they're ripoff of the taxpayer's in some other way. One way or another you (taxpayers) have paid every dime he has ever had in his pocket.

The Aussies caught a NKorean ship smuggling drugs into Australia a year or so ago. They're pretty peeved at the NKoreans already because of stuff like that. (The North claimed they knew nothing of the drugs, but the Aussies pointed out that there's no such thing as private activity in North Korea, so that the government must have been smuggling the drugs to make money. No diplomatic garbage accepted there.....)

As for Ford, the Australians could make nukes pretty easily if they wanted, but why would they? The Americans and British would be more than happy to nuke anyone that hits Australia. It's a lot easier to have an ALLY with nukes than to make nukes yourself.

I said that i'd be SURPRISED if CNN keeps Blitzer after his HUMILIATING debate with Lynne Cheney. However, CNN is not known for making wise decisions, therefore who knows what they'll do. I only bet on real estate - nothing else.
