The latest from a tolerant, open minded liberal:

BLITZER: I have been covering the Cheneys for many years, including on a day-to-day basis when he was the defense secretary during the first Gulf War and I was CNN's Pentagon correspondent . . . I was surprised when she came out swinging on Friday, surprised . . . at her sniping at my patriotism.
Wolf Blitzer
CNN Late Edition
October 29, 2006Translation: Oh Lawdy! Massa's wife so mad she even beatin' on us house slaves now. What dis ol' world comin' to?
You're probably wondering what this guy was thinking writing something like this. Well, as far as those on the left are concerned, they are so morally superior to conservatives that it's ok if they post it. It's only racist if a conservative does.
Hypocrisy rears its ugly head.
Hat tip: Blue Crab Boulevard
Update: John Hawkins walks us down memory lane of liberal racism:
Liberals love to accuse conservatives of racism, but as a general rule, liberals tend to be some of the most racially insensitive people you'll ever come across. They've thrown Oreos at Michael Steele, photoshopped Joe Lieberman in blackface, called black Republicans Uncle Toms and House Slaves, and they called Marvin Stewart, a black member of the Minutemen, a n*gger at Columbia University.
From Jane Hamsher:

From Steve Gilliard:

Update II: Michelle Malkin hits the mark:
They imagine racism where there is none, and then think nothing of employing blatant racist imagery to attack those who aren't liberal enough for them.

Indeed, one should ask the question. But, you'd have to ask it at the Whisky Bar (an open and tolerant liberal blog), since the question would have folks scratching their heads around here, because (and here's a flash) it has nothing to do with racism. And even if it did, the accompanying graphic is inappropriate. That is the point, in case your single-track mind missed it.

Lee only thinks of one thing here at Wizbang. His single purpose is to discredit everything that he sees, in spite of the logical pretzles it takes to accomplish the goal. Wizbang and its ilk are the enemy to be vanquished. This time, Lee signaled his motives by blindly rushing to weigh in on something he simply didn't understand. Now he's in a dilemma, since he voiced an opinion on something for which he thought Wizbang was responsible. This will be interesting.

Let me boil it down for you: A decidedly liberal blog obviously steamed enough over the spanking that was delivered Blitzer that it risks the use of an ugly racial caricature. But, the bizarre thing is that the group that is supposed to be the champion for the cause of the black man doesn't see (or refuses to see) the damage done. Why is that? Geez. Do all of you libs have ADD? Okay, Lee, While you're googling, why don't you search for "condoleezza rice" and tell me what you find. Maybe you can explain the predominance of left-leaning blogs and radio talk shows engaging in the portrayal racial sterotypes. You'll find:
Madison, WI talk radio host John "Sly" Sylvester on "Progressive Talk 1670 AM" who referred to Condoleezza Rice as "Aunt Jemimah" and Colin Powell as "Uncle Tom".
king-robert-the-bruce.blogspot.com who refers to the Secretary as "US Secretary of State Aunt Jemimah Condoleezza Rice".
Garry Trudeau drew the President calling Dr. Rice "Brown Sugar" in his sadly unfunny comic strip, "Doonesbury"
Thomas Oliphant draws Miss Rice as a parrot with oversized lips.
Ted Rall, formerly syndicated by the WaPo, lampoons Miss Rice boasting about her role as "Bush's Beard" and his "House N*****". Another cartoon demands she "hand over her hair straightener" and has her going to an "inner-city racial re-education camp".
Mr. Danziger, still syndicated by the New York Times, depicts Dr. Rice as a barefoot woman in a rocking chair with a baby bottle. One Danziger cartoon shows her as the slave Prissy from "Gone With The Wind."
Really? It's only one schmuck who posted a really stupid blog post? Come on Lee. Will you at least try to get a clue? But, then what should we expect with progressives? One would expect the NAACP to rejoice in the advancement of a woman of color to two of the highest posts in the land, but they were strangely silent on the historic occasion when Rice was nominated to become the first black, female Secretary of State. And then there's The National Organization of Women, who have long purported to stand against the trivialization and objectification of women as sex objects, apparently have no problem when Gary Trudeau depicts Dr. Rice as "Brown Sugar". Hey, check it out, that's a two-for-one put-down. She was slammed for both her race and gender.
So, now we come back to Blitzer in blackface, and you have the temerity of ripping us for pointing it out. And then, as if to add insult to injury, you question our intelligence by suggesting this is an isolated incident.
