I usually don't write about my family, but I thought I'd make an exception today and wish my Little Man a happy fourth birthday. Yep, four years ago today I was in the hospital laboring away to bring my first child into the world. The momentous occasion was marked by the fact the Ohio State/Michigan game was on, which allowed me to watch it in between contractions to keep my mind occupied and my nerves calm. Since then, my son's birthday has always fallen on or somewhere around the Big Game, and this year is again no different. His official birthday party is Saturday afternoon, before the game of course, because I want to make sure we are all home in time for the kick-off.
One of the presents I'm giving him this year is a very cute book called It's Fun to be a Buckeye! It's a great book that takes kids through the fun and traditions of an Ohio State football game. The author Amy Fowble was kind enough to send me an autographed copy, and I know my son will love it.
If you are a Buckeye fan as well and are looking for a fun way teach the Buckeye football traditions to your kids, I recommend this children's book. You can find it at book stores like Barnes & Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks, Buckeye Corner as well as the It's Fun to Be site.
Update: Who's going to win the Big Game on Saturday? Take the poll at Blogical Conclusions. So far, voters expect OSU to win.

What do you get when you drive slowly thru Columbus, Ohio?
A degree from OSU.
Did you hear about the student who flunked out of UofM and then went to OSU?
He raised the standards of both schools
After a long and happy life, Jim Tressell died, and went to heaven. When he arrived, St. Peter was waiting for him. He began to show him around the neighborhood, and eventually reached his dwelling. It was a nice log cabin with an OSU flag out front. They continued walking and eventually reached a huge 3 story mansion with tons of U of M decor in the yard and on the house. Tressell gets angry, and looks over at St. Peter.
"Why does Lloyd Carr get a mansion, while I'm stuck in a log cabin? Sure it's nice, but he gets this? Tressell yells.
St. Peter replies, "Jim, that's not Lloyd Carr's house, that's God's."
q:what is an ohio state alumni sticker good for?
a:free handicapped parking
Did you hear what Ohio State's football coach is doing for the up-coming battle against rival Michigan? He is only dressing 20 players, he says the rest can dress themselves.

LOL! Those are good...now check these out:
A guy in a Ohio bar leans over to the guy next to him and says, "Wanna hear a Michigan joke?" The guy replies, "Well, before you tell that joke, you should know something. I am 6' tall, 200 lbs. and I am a Michigan Graduate. The guy sitting next to me is 6'2", 225 lbs. and he is a Michigan Graduate. The guy right next to him is 6'5", 250 lbs. and he is also a Michigan Graduate. Now, you still wanna tell me that joke?" The first guy says, "No, not if I'm going to have to explain it three times."
Did you hear that the University of Michigan library burned to the ground? All five books in the library were completely destroyed... the football team is really upset by the fire; they hadn't colored in two of the books yet!
What did the Michigan grad say to the OSU grad?
"Welcome to McDonalds. May I take your order please?"
Why is ice no longer available at Michigan football games? Because the senior who knew the recipe finally graduated.
What are the three longest years of a Michigan
football player's life? His freshman year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN! You are so lucky to have a Buckeye parent!
Now if everyone out there would like to vote on something that will actually make them feel good, there is a poll being conducted as to the best "symbolic" things about various colleges, including SCRIPT OHIO which will bring a tight feeling in the chest to any alum.
The site says you can vote for 5 different things, but since OSU was at 10+% this morning and is now up in the 40% range, voting for ONLY Script Ohio seems to be working!
