Curt at Flopping Aces found this little nugget from Cindy Sheehan. She blames President Ford for the Iraq war. Take a look at this huge leap of logic:
Usually, burying a 93 year old loved one is sorrowful but, I believe his pardon of Richard Nixon is one of the factors that have led to the untimely deaths of over 3000 American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians in the Middle East. Just this month alone, 91 of our young people have met early, avoidable, unnecessary and tragic deaths in Bloody George's horrific war.
How does she make this huge leap? Take a look:
[S]ince Nixon got away with his blatant crimes and every President since Nixon has skated away from office after having committed overt and covert crimes, we have on our hands, here, a situation that I am forced now to call: "Bloody George."
According to Cindy Sheehan, President Ford's pardon of Richard Nixon created a chain of lawless presidents spanning 30 years that led directly to the Iraq war. To paraphrase a line from Billy Madison, Cindy's logic is so idiotic and void of any rational thought what so ever, that we're all dumber for just having read it.

Sheehan clearly has some major, major issues. It's just a shame she receives any sort of publicity for her whacked-out antics. But (slapping forehead)... that's our good old MSM!
BTW, your trackbacks appear to be down.

She has had her 15 minutes of fame and isn't getting the attention she used to.
Personally, I hope the Left never abandons her.
Like Jimmy ("I used to have brain waves") Carter, she's a fantastic weapon in the conservative arsenal.

I blame Nixon.
Richard Nixon DID start the War on Terror. Watergate led to Democrats gaining complete control of Congress, which led our selling out South Vietnam, which started a pattern of retreat and weakness--Bereuit, the Iran-hostage crisis, Somalia, and the failure to retaliate seriously for the 1,000 Americans killed by terrorists before 9/11.
There was and is a world-leadership vacuum in which the terrorists have grown and flourished. And in which terror-supporting nutcases like Sheehan flourish. And you can trace it to Nixon, though I would say that the rot was much deeper.

That's a fair analysis, JW, but we should also recall that the "Cindy Sheehans" of that era (Jane Fonda, John Kerry, et al) also played a huge role: They gave the enemy (which was very close to surrendering) enough hope to hold on thru our internal political disaster. This is the "Vietnam-repeat" the lefties in this country are hoping to bring about. Question is: will we be saying decades from now that Sheehan, Moore, et al, caused us to lose the war on terrorism? Lets hope not.

One day, even the MSN will tire of her stupid rants and Heaven help anyone that is around her. It will not be a pretty sight. She's the "peace mom" now but only one small step from becoming the "peace martyr". She wants it, she craves it...and with the gleeful help of the MSN- she will get it.

He finally swallows a keg of gunpowder, some gasoline and a couple of sticks of dynamite and touches it off. Spectacular act except no room for an encour performance. she has grown progressively nuttier, trying to extend the fifteen minutes. Well, she may have come in peace but will go in pieces.

Now, now -- Sheehan does make some legitimate points. I kind of like this bit:
"Bloody George struts around in a cloud of denial with his fake cowboy swagger, breaking our nation's laws and international laws as if he were immune from life's woes and above any law. What Mr. Talking Head [a nameless TV commentator who supposedly said that it was a "great thing for America" that Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon because we don't make public spectacles out of trying our presidents in criminal courts like a "banana republic."] was pointing out to us in his ridiculous commentary was that presidents are above the law that they swear to uphold. Presidents of other countries who are found guilty of murdering 148 people are not apparently above the law -- Bloody George plays banana republic justice in other countries while countenancing none of the same here in the U.S. of A."
Me and others who have been paying attention to public statements versus best evidence in hand consider Bush, as well as any and all of his people having anything to do with the Iraq war, to be absolutely beyond a doubt guilty of lying and blatent deception. [Spare me any attempts at rebuttal -- I've seen them all and they all fall apart with any scrutiny.] There had been a long standing proposal by the PNAC to remove Hussein and thanks to Bush's staff being conveniently PNAC-heavy (his brother Jeb is also a member), the best evidence is that Bush took up the PNAC cause and used deceit and the emotions of 9/11 to sell the invasion to both congress and the American people.
Indeed if Nancy Pelosi is really serious about keeping impeachment off the table and the Democrats go along with this, she and they will be absolutely fully deserving of having their butts handed to them in the next election cycle.
