I know you must be attempting a perfect "0" in the comments field with this Extra! Change "Couric" to "x" and you'll have a post with no expiration date.

Sister Lorie,
What you said was very wrong against women. We need to give everybody a chance. ALl of us should stop worrying just about how good a person is, but give them a chance.
There is nothing wrong about women and women anchors.
Thank You
MU

How about someone who's known for news? The first word anybody thinks when they hear the name,"Katie Couric" is "perky".
Who have they tried? Baba Wawa, Perky Katie and "Thanks for the Memories", none of them are exactly what you first think of when you think, "objective news reporting". I think "speech impediment", "Perky" and "buh?", respectively.
They tried to come out of the closet and openly admit that their "news" show is really just infotainment and should not be confused with real news. Most people who watch network news like to pretend they're watching someone and something important.
She's just as huge a step backward for women as Jessica Simpson.
Not that I don't like looking at Jessica, but she makes Jeanie (of "I Dream of" fame) look like Gloria Steinham.

Why are the trolls the first people to piss on your legs and then tell you it's raining?
Why are the trolls always bitching and complaining on this site, yet seem to be some of the first responders on EVERY single post the Wizbangers happen to open?

Maybe if the other networks found female anchors just as bad as her, she'd indirectly have a chance at increasing ratings?

Am I the only one here old enough to remember that Barbara Walters used to be the co-anchor of the #1 morning news show (I can't remember if it was Today Show or GMA)?
If Katie Couric wants to be taken seriously, she needs to recognize that in order to be a credible news anchor, you need to avoid people thinking to themselves "I don't believe her" when she's talking.
That's her problem.
Now Elizabeth Vargas, I could "watch" the news all day with her.

Methinks she wants to make sure there is still one female anchor at the next meeting like this, and that it is still Katie.
Her ratings are tanking and CBS trails the other two networks by larger margins than before.
Not a good omen.

Be careful Steve how you handle bryanD. He didn't like the way I was questioning his comments on one of Lorie's posts last week and he ultimately assumed from that I am gay. He gets really agitated if you don't smile in agreement and just move on.

Wow...just WOW!
OK MU lets follow your lead.. Lets see, female news anchors, just who could possibly fit the role as outlined by MU, i.e. it isn't a requirement to be a good person.
Here is a list MU they would they fit your criteria.

Good person is what all of us should be.
You can be a good person and still not be the best speaker. Let us pay more importance to humaen values then being the best at the job.
Those serial killers could be great speakers but not good humans.
