Harry Potter and the Former Vice President

OK, so maybe it just means that I have been spending too much time re-reading the Harry Potter books, trying to predict what will happen in the finale, but ...

Does anyone else think that Al Gore is starting to look more and more like Evil Lord Voldemort, and worse, might like being compared to him?

Could he carry Tennessee this time around? We must admit, he'd be a very very funny candidate....What a self-absorbed twit.

You are kidding, right? Are we going to start the whole 'smirking chimp' thing all over again. C'mon, lets find out if the pols wear converse or mephisto and then snark on them for either being low-lifes or high-rollers. Do you pick you nose with your index finger or your little finger. Everyone knows that if you pick your nose you are.......

I think Algore is more like a Dementor, wraith-like creatures described by J.K. Rowling as "growing like fungi in the darkest, dankest places, creating a dense, chilly fog; sucking the joy out of life whenever one drew near".

Come to think of it, that describes several of the trolls here at Wizbang.

Ain't it the truth? When push came to shove, Cheney showed what a coward he really is - despite the macho posturing. In fact, Cheney hasn't been this cowardly since he got 5 (count 'em - five) deferments from going to Vietnam. Oh that's right - he had "other priorities". LOL.

When's Wizbang going to start reporting real news, instead of this trivial Al Gore bs? Seems right-wingers are afraid of the truth.

Yeah, but he shot a man in the face. Come on that took bravery. Well, maybe not so much.

So what are you saying, that if in a similar position as Cheney you wouldn't choose to follow the advice of YOUR high priced attorney and take the stand?

How "courageous" of you. And dumber than a diaper wearing astronut!

And BTW, Cheney received 3 deferments not 5. 2 of the three were extended which the "peddlers of truth" such as you conflate to mean 5.

bryanD:

marc: Cheney had 5 deferrments. And the circumstances surrounding the 5th are hilarious. The draftboard suddenly made married men eligible; but men married with children, ineligible. 9 months and a few days later his first child was born! PS. You can obtain an autographed photo of Deadeye for the asking. Except he won't sign it "Deadeye". He's humble!

bryanD:

Falze, I'd say an exile in Canada takes more cajones since your citizenship could be stripped and the exile could be a lifetime. This was before Carter's amnesty, of course. But for the present-day pre-emptive warlord and student of brinkmanship to have been a confirmed coward, taking no principled stand pro or con, and even using a newborn baby as his deferrment coupon, is the height of worminess.

bryanD:

Old Coot, Get it out of your hoary head: it's not all partisan dems against the Bush regime. I'm a registered republican. Voted for Reagan. Twice (tho' the 2nd term should count as the G Schutz administration). Do you think only Dems and independents turned the Republicans out? WRONG! I just happen to think Bush is a globalist (read Un-American, and closer to the Dems than he is to Reagan, by a mile.)

I would like someone to prove to me that CO2 in the atmosphere actually causes the planet's temperature to increase. If you go back to the end of the last ice age, CO2 concentrations were far less than today. Back to the previous inter-glacial period, it's even worse for the alarmists. Where is the proof?

We have the wizard before the horse.

Tim Deters:

For what its worth, my prediction is that Harry Potter will die destroying Lord Valdemort. The series of books has some thematic common threads; sacrifice, duty, suffering. Harry's likely death would wrap up the series with a certain finality as well. Draco will either follow in Snape's footsteps or shall have a redemptive epiphany. Ronald and Hermione will hookup, and the other minor charachters will get to live out their days in relative peace.

Gore looks more like Jabbde Hut each and everyday. He has a clue about the "TRUTH" he and weee willy were havin extracurliar activities instead of doing what needed to have been done while they were in office. Now C Shillary claims she don't know why everything has gotten out of hand. She knew all about all the mix ups with Bill and his non comittal stance on terror, he was a wimp.
