Former ACLU Chapter President Arrested for Possession of Graphic Child Pornographic Videos

I haven't posted on this before because it's so sick, so utterly disgusting, I couldn't bring myself to even read the articles about it until now. From ABC News:

Federal agents arrested Charles Rust-Tierney, the former president of the Virginia chapter of the ACLU, Friday in Arlington for allegedly possessing child pornography.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by ABC News, Rust-Tierney allegedly used his e-mail address and credit card to subscribe to and access a child pornography website.

The complaint states that federal investigations into child pornography websites revealed that "Charles Rust-Tierney has subscribed to multiple child pornography website over a period of years."

As recently as last October, the complaint alleges, "Rust-Tierney purchased access to a group of hardcore commercial child pornography websites."

This is the kind of pornography this guy admitted to downloading and watching:

The videos described in the complaint depict graphic forcible intercourse with prepubescent females. One if the girls is described in court documents as being "seen and heard crying", another is described as being "bound by rope."

I had several reactions to reading this article, all of which happened virtually simultaneously. My first reaction was to almost vomit. Then complete and total fury toward Rust-Tierney and complete and total fury toward the people who did this to these little girls. Then I thought of these poor, innocent little girls. How the hell did this happen to them? Were they kidnapped and used as sex slaves? Did their family members do this to them?

If you've got a strong stomach, you can watch Bill O'Rielly's report posted on Hot Air. You should take note while watching the video how Catherine Herridge says these videos are so graphic and so awful that the only thing worse are snuff films. Ms. Herridge also said everyone is tiptoeing around the story because Rust-Tierney is a past president of the Virginia chapter of the ACLU. That makes this story even more important, considering the ACLU fights for the right for NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Love Association, to advocate the rape of little boys:

[T]he ACLU lately has stained the dark side of its reputation through its actions in two cases involving the treatment of vulnerable, young Americans. The ACLU is defending those who abuse children while attacking those who give them moral guidance. This contrast reveals the priorities of today's ACLU.

The Manhattan-based public-interest law firm is defending the North American Man-Boy Love Association in a $200 million civil lawsuit filed by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Curley. The Curleys claim that Charles Jaynes was driven by the literature and website of NAMBLA, an outfit that advocates sex between grown men and little boys, reportedly as young as age 8.

[...]

However, as Fox News' Bill O'Reilly noted, there is more at play here than pamphleteering. "According to lawyers familiar with [NAMBLA's] website," O'Reilly explained, "it actually posted techniques designed to lure boys into having sex with men and also supplied information on what an adult should do if caught."

NAMBLA is "not just publishing material that says it's OK to have sex with children and advocating changing the law," says Larry Frisoli, a Cambridge attorney who is arguing the Curleys case in federal court. NAMBLA, he says, "is actively training their members how to rape children and get away with it. They distribute child pornography and trade live children among NAMBLA members with the purpose of having sex with them."

Frisoli cites a NAMBLA publication he calls "The Rape and Escape Manual." Its actual title is "The Survival Manual: The Man's Guide to Staying Alive in Man-Boy Sexual Relationships."

"Its chapters explain how to build relationships with children," Frisoli tells me. "How to gain the confidence of children's parents. Where to go to have sex with children so as not to get caught...There is advice, if one gets caught, on when to leave America and how to rip off credit card companies to get cash to finance your flight. It's pretty detailed."

Yes, Rust-Tierney is innocent until proven guilty, but let's get real here. Considering that the ACLU fights to legalize the distribution of child pornography, is it really a surprise that a past chapter president downloaded violent child pornography? As far as the ACLU is concerned, what Rust-Tierney did should be made legal.

When have libs ever cared about kids? They dont care much in the womb, act as if they care by mandating we pay teachers more(forget giving parents freedom of choice when it comes to vouchers and education), they feel its OK for a 12 yr old gir to be old n wise enough to choose abortion, but an 18+ yr old isnt old n wise enough to enlist.

They really only care when they hit the age of 18, so they can somehow lie and claim theyve cared all along, so vote for the ass, err, donkey party.

ANYONE that molests a child EVER should be stoned to death by noon the next day. Kids parents get the first chuck, then the kids aunts n uncles, etc.

Wonder if Barney Frank(D) or S.D. Sen. Dan Sutton(D) will push for strict punishment for child molestors?? Prolly not.

If this was you being sarcastic, I get it. *Ahem*.. LOL :)

However, if you are equating chid porn (naked pictures of children in a sexually graphic manner) with sending college aged pages sexually suggestive e-mails, then you trully have an enlightened mind. I knew Norway was a little liberal, but you guys go hard up there.

I knew the ACLU fought agressively to protect the rights of pedophiles in NAMBLA, I just didn't know they were card carrying members of NAMBLA.

Seems like Drudge had this story a week ago. No, I was wrong. It was ABC News, on Friday, with a candlestick, in the Conservatory.

Google it. There are currently about 14,000 entries under "Rust-Tierney".

Don't be distracted by the 1998 case where Rust-Tierny vigorously opposed content filtering on public library computers.

And don't be distracted by the WTOP-FM website article that refers to him as a "Youth Sports Coach".

The place I didn't see it mentioned was on the ACLU's website. Then again, I suppose this is because they will be probably be defending him in court.

Does that make a difference to you, Steve?

maybe we can subject proven child molestors to a drive with Ted Kenendy, a flight with JFK jr, oops, maybe inject them with HIV and put em in solitary confinement, or maybe treat em like the left treated Terri Schiavo, and allow her to starve to death.

Or, we could always just late term abort them, libs always love that method.

Bottom line, ANYONE who molests a child, or actually anyone that or supports their actions, shouldnt be allowed many many more sunrises.

HughS, it was a joke.

I don't regard FoxNews as a tool of the devil.

I have, however, been told that it is - as recently as this past Saturday morning, in fact. The "devil" in question - to that particular individual, BTW, - was President Bush. I have been told that often.

Nor do I regard ABC News as either a "tool" or "the devil" - in fact, when I am inclined to watch a network newscast, ABC is the one I pick.

I just asked the question because, a very short time ago, a story that broke on ABC News was taken unquestioned as truthful despite the fact it was not - initially - published elsewhere either.

I was joking about that inconsistency.

I did not intend that it be directed to you, but realize that is certainly what it appeared to be. I apologize for that.

These nitwits have irreparably harmed a child, possibly a family, and we want their death to be painless F NO, we need an infinite amount of pain and maybe, just maybe, that will be a deterrent since the amoral left seems to want em to only get a slap on the wrist

This should be just as big a scandal IF the MSM treats both sides fairly -- since the ACLU IS the left's God, it's church, it's religion, and this was big leader of that "church."

Kim,

To answer your question, I believe that most of this kind of porn comes from the former Eastern Bloc and Russia, where there is a powerful white slave trade controlled by organized crime.

-----------------------------------------

I think Rust-Tierney will get the kid gloves treatment and here's why ... it's pretty obvious if you think about it.

To liberals, the worst, most vile kind of human scum is the hypocrite, the coward who fights to deny others the pleasures that they themselves revel in.

Mark Foley opposed gay marriage and special rights for gays.

Ted Haggard opposed gay marriage and was an ordained minister, married with kids.

On the other hand, it seems like Rust-Tierney -- as an official of the ACLU -- probably supports NAMBLA, probably supports the legalization of child porn, and personally fought for libraries to have unrestricted internet access, even to adult content.

And no, neither the ACLU, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, nor the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (run by Rust-Tierney's wife) will be dragged through the mud, nor will we ever hear about his ties to the Democrat party (and you know he has plenty of them.)
