A few thoughts on those on the left still upset over Ann Coulter

It was really kind and thoughtful of the folks on the left to help the right-wingers clean up their mess with the whole Ann Coulter thing. It was really decent of you to make sure everyone knew just what she said, and how, last week.

In return, I thought it was only proper if I helped you clean up your own house a bit.

For example, does Cindy Sheehan still possess "absolute moral authority?" If she did lose it, I'm afraid I missed it.

For another, when Michael Moore's next movie comes out -- an "examination" of the health care system, fortuitously timed to give a major boost to the notion of nationalized health care for the next election -- will top Democrats all rush to the premiere and sing its praises, like they did last time? Will he be accorded a place of honor at the next Democratic National Convention, too?

I also wonder when Bill Maher... nah, never mind. He's already been marginalized off network television.

I could go on and on and on, but I'd be recovering the same ground the always-exceptional Patterico so thoroughly saturated the other day.

You're welcome, kind folks of the left.

Its gotta be rough being a conservative submissive...you know, with no creative icons. No great musicians, no great film makers, no great playwrights, no great fiction writers, no great comedians coming out as a conservative.

Makes you wonder? There has gotta be something miswired in the "conservative" brain.

Perhaps that's the difference. Conservative artists recognize the difference between expressing their art and expressing their politics.

Not to start an argument, but I note that conservativebookstore.com lists among its most popular sales of fiction such second-rate authors as Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, Mickey Spillane and William F. Buckley.

Just from your small 5 person list (and small mind?)...

From Wikipedia:
Eastwood is a registered Republican in California, and was a supporter of Richard Nixon's 1968 campaign. He describes himself as a libertarian, describing his philosophy as "Everyone leaves everyone else alone."

But personally, I'm not a follower so I don't look for wisdom from those I realize are nothing more than modern day court jesters (aka entertainers).

I think it is funny that H. Kurtz thinks the dems are the ones to expose coulter's talk and castigate her for same. Reading the blogs AT THE CPAC, WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING, the right was all over this stating their strong condemnation for what coulter said. Then the right went on to issue (in print) their condemnation of her speech. But if you only read/listen to the left, theu're the ones who reported and condemned it. Isn't it interesting that the right cleans house (figuratively speaking) and the left DEFENDS their idiots.

Right-side brain dominance is not associated with logic or coherent thought. To wit, the Dixie Twits.

Springsteen has been singing about being poor for 35 years. He hasn't been poor in 35 years.

I am not interested in being influenced in any way by a mind that can produce the kind of evil imagined by Stephen King.

Seinfeld is a schmuck.

And one more name:

Michael Crichton.

Crichton recognized Hollywood types for what they are: "fabulously stupid."

Yes Marc, the real issue is actually mAnnn Coulter and all that is going on underneath that veneer of a skeletal woman. She clearly used to be a man and has a hidden past. Her hatred and bigotry, and general insane remarks are a big pointer to her inner turmoil with her gender and/or own sexuality. So, it would appear that Democrats do not have exclusive rights to call the opposition NAZIs.

Personally, I'd love to be marginalized to a regular 1 hour show on HBO. Maher makes his living as a humorist/satirist. His style and substance are no doubt lost on the red-meat, bomb-everybody-now crowd that is so well represented here. Anyone who has watched more than a few minutes of his shows knows that he is not so partisan as to be above skewering anyone if he feels they deserve it. He regularly asks questions that put his guests on the spot regardless of their political leanings. Conservatives are welcomed on his show and he's even had Coultergeist on a few times.

Speaking of everyone's favorite faggot-basher, I'd love to see her pull off a show like Maher's, one that tries to stimulate discussion. She seems limited to short, bomb-throwing drive-bys, full of eye rolling, inapproriate giggling and smug self satisfaction. She would most likely last only a few minutes before the drugs start wearing off or the bag of snakes that is cloaked by her vaguely human form start to rise to the surface, writhing and snapping at anything that moves. She's a convenient tool of the repub hate/spin machine; invite ol'Anorexic Annie to your convention or show and everything else that is said will sound more reasonable by comparison, no matter how vile.

Ann is such a beacon for free speech? It is too bad that if she wrote on her blog what she said at CPAC, she would get banned. Actually, there isn't much that she has said in the past that would be allowed on her site. Here are the rules from her blog:

-Ann Coulter is our hostess. You may agree or disagree with her positions, but any disrespect towards Ann will be grounds for immediate removal.

-All debate must be honest and fair.

-Obscene, profane, vulgar, or threatening posts will not be tolerated.

Maher isn't exactly a liberal, but more of a rebel and a highly abrasive and controversial comic. Maher voted for Republican Bob Dole for President in 1996, when even a conservative state like Arizona voted for Bill Clinton in his wide election win. That's not exactly liberal.

Jay seem to abide by Ann's vicious attacks on liberals, Arabs and gays.
