As if we couldn't see this one coming a mile away -- Al Sharpton is taking aim at Barack Obama while he is trying to get his personal enrichment plan, er, I mean his own campaign, underway.(Link via Drudge)
With the race for the Democratic presidential nomination already in high gear, the Reverend Al Sharpton jumped into the fray today with some tough criticism for Senator Barack Obama. The outspoken reverend offered the harsh comments to Obama just as he looked to build support for his candidacy in the black community.The conventional wisdom, which I have believed to be true, in the matter of the cancelled Fox News Democrat primary debate, is that the nutroots made a huge error in keeping their candidates from being seen by the biggest cable audience possible. Now, hmmm, I wonder. Maybe they had an idea what might be coming and really did want the smallest number of people possible to see their candidates. Ya gotta admit, it is a possibility."Why shouldn't the black community ask questions? Are we now being told, 'You all just shut up?'" Sharpton told CBS 2's Marcia Kramer Monday. "Senator Obama and I agree that the war is wrong, but then I want to know why he went to Connecticut and helped [Sen. Joseph] Lieberman, the biggest supporter of the war."
Sharpton also questioned why Obama supports "tort reform, which hurts police brutality victims."
What set Sharpton off was a published report that he is trying to hurt Obama's campaign because he's jealous. Sharpton says that claim is untrue, charging the story came from the Obama camp to pressure him into an early endorsement.
"I'm not going to be cajoled or intimidated by any candidate not for my support," Sharpton said.

If he was worth anything someone would make a dead hero out of him like they did MLK. Someway the 'no chance' people that run every cycle are putting millions in their pocket. Time for someone to stand up and send them the jail Being black isn't a get out of jail free card. Sharptongue has put out the gauntlet, which is an armored glove, which protects his outstretched palm. Obama must have declined to hire him as a consultant. As a (non-paying) graduate of the Jesse Jackson School of Legalized Extortion, Al knows the First Law of Profitable Activism: "If they don't pay you in cash, make them pay you in pain!"
Barry should just pay up. And keep fighting to reduce the number of Democratic debates, as he has been.
