I've always been skeptical of Obama's "consensus-building" skills, wondering how he'll be able to bridge the divide between Republicans and Democrats when it seems as if he's unable to bridge the divide between Democrats.

Peace isn't possible unless it includes all parties. Without Hamas' involvement in forging a peace the best you can hope for is a cease-fire.

Elliott Ness might as well have included Al Capone when figuring out how to fight organized crime in Chicago.

Compromise - the word's root is promise.
It's not possible to reach a compromise with a group who has continually demonstrated that their word, their promise, holds no value. Hamas has demonstrated that they can be no peace with Hamas.
The problems with the region has been going on for centuries. For the curious, go back and read on Thomas Jefferson's war with the Barbary states. The cycle of 'cease fire' to war to 'cease fire' to ... is nothing new.

hermie, capone actually had a small sense of decency - in so much that he wouldn't himself, of allow others under his charge, to indiscriminately target innocent people for murder.
So yes ... Al Capone was better than any member of Hamas. (really, there's no comparison).

It amazes me when people ask why Israel's building a wall. Well, duh, people on the other side either want to kill Jews by the score or, at the least, are fed non-stop Jew hatred 24 hours a day.

No, the Palestinians are pretty much the world's biggest losers right now. They're not interesting in helping themselves, they're not interested in living productive lives, either for themselves or for their children, all they're interested in doing is nursing their grievances and killing Israelis.
Also notice that their "brother" Arabs don't want to have anything to do with them, either, and haven't lifted a finger to help them, except as they can use them as proxies to fan the flames against Israel.

Start with the children - that way even if we lose, the problem that they have to clean up lasts at least 3 more gnerations or about 70 years in total.
Look at Africa.
Look at SE Asia.
Ask yourself - is it Osama that is the problem, or the lack of outrage over this?
Where is CAIR at this point?
