Hope everything is OK with the Edwards family but the reality is that's maybe too optimistic considering the dots connected.

Cancer is horrid, I'm not so sure its evil. It is a price we pay for having a complex genetic system of cell differentiation and control.

The true strengths and weakness of character in a family come out during times of challenge like this.

I certainly offer good wishes and prayers to persons on both sides of the aisle who any have personal struggles.

On the political side of things, Edwards simply hasn't gained the traction in the polls that he really expected so far. In cash donations he lags far behind both Clinton and Obama as well. Suspending his presidential run wouldn't really be bad. In fact, probably the right choice for all candidates other than Clinton or Obama, as none really have any realistic chance of winning the nomination at this point.

Clinton is still the heavy favorite to be nominated, although Obama will draw a strong antiHillary vote and energize many younger voters. And Giuliani still is the heavy favorite on the GOP side, as well as most likely to win the presidency at this point.

Cancer is no small thing; even though Lance beat it, it eventually ruined his family, perhaps twice. If Edwards chooses to become the "former contender" & focus on his wife's needs, then Godspeed. Yet after receiving whatever news he received, he went fundraising? If the news was bad & he still felt the need to focus on cash & pig, then Xrist what the hell kind of dude is he?

I remain unsure if I would vote for John Edwards, but I absolutely wish his wife full health.

TO put things on a more personal note, I've had a family member be diagnosed with a cancer. I've seen, even after a surgery estimated to be successful, them being unable to sleep at night wondering if THIS test is going to come back positive or negative. So when I say 'go to hell' regarding your sentiments, I want you to understand it is a most sincere and heartfelt 'go to hell."
