Obama and Hillary Pull Out of Fox Debate

Obama chickens out and Hillary does, too. I say "chickens out" because they are either afraid of appearing on a network they know won't bend over backward to throw them softballs, as ABC did with their 30 minute kissy GMA Hillary campaign commercial or they are afraid of letting John Edwards "out moonbat" them. If they are really determined to boycott Fox I hope they continue to do so throughout the duration of the campaign. I would be happy to see Democrats confine themselves to the lower rated cable news channels. Unfortunately, they are given enough free fawning coverage by the big three networks that I suppose they have decided they can get by without appearing on Fox News. One result should be that the Republican primary debates which Fox carries will receive a bigger audience than the Democrat primary debates that run on other cable news networks. What I would like to see is Fox host a debate in the general election and see Democrats be consistent and boycott that one. Could we see a one hour or ninety minute debate with only the Republican and possibly a Libertarian or other third party candidate debate? I know -- that would never happen, but it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. If anyone had a reason to boycott a network due to bias, it would be any Republican candidate for president. CBS, for example? Anyone up for a "fake, but accurate" debate?

"I hope they continue to do so throughout the duration of the campaign." News flash!!!! They already do. When was the last time you saw Obama or Clinton on Fox? Edwards has not been on since Coulter called him a fag.

Do you really think that Obama wants to appear on the same network that called him a sleeper agent for al Qaeda?

When the dems first pulled out of the earlier Fox debate, Bill Maher, on his show was highly critical of it. He basically said doing something so wussy made Ann Coulter look like she's been right about democrats all along. And she is. Then I believe he said something about the last thing the democrats need is to look like a bunch of p#ssies.

But Bill, they are! And we all know it. Yeeehaw.

Edwards has shown his a** in the dispute with his neighbor. If he can't get along with one person and can't settle it out of the 'news' then how in the he** can anyone trust him to deal with 'real' enemies?

Osama Obama (the islamist) also showed he a** by using a taxpayer funded office for his campaign and putting his feet on a piece of furniture that probably cost us more than the entire furnishings of most of our homes.

One thing about a democrat criminal. They try but never quite succeed in covering up their stupid and criminal ways.

So don't get your panties in a wad if someone corrects you on your false BS. So if you want to keep calling her a traitor, or that she committed treason, then that means the State Dept, which is part of the executive branch of the gov't did also.

One of the myths of the Pre... (Below threshold)
OhioVoter:

One of the myths of the Presidential campaign - perpetuated by the networks who agree to the 2-3 party limit the candidates want - is that there are only two people running for President.

The first time Edwards played the prima donna, I said ignore it. Now, with this second tantrum, I suggest that Fox do what was suggested earlier and give the spaces of those who backed out over to third party candidates. No fuss or muss - when someone says they decline, Fox should respond with a quick, no drama announcement that "Mr/Ms. Candidate X" will be taking the vacated space and move on without further comment.

The only sadder than someone who thinks they should be able to censor news is someone who thinks they should be able to and are proven wrong. By his refusal to appear on Fox, Edwards is saying that he wants to control what Fox says at other times - an attitude that should terrify all believers in free speech.

So what if they don't speak in revered tones about his every pronouncement? He's running for president, for Pete's sake. He needs to grow a backbone and a thicker skin.

As to Obama and Clinton following his lead .... Howard Dean believed his press too and we saw how quickly is campaign fell apart. One (or both) will inevitable find themselves in the same position. It will be interesting to see what they think of Fox then.

This refusal to debate on n... (Below threshold)

This refusal to debate on neutral territory displays the essential cowardice of the second-raters leading the Dem pack. Actually this cowardice is a victory for MoveOn.org which is seeking to radicalize and marginalize the Democrats into a permanent minority. A recent Zogby Poll had voters considering themselves Conservative over Liberal by a margin of 41% to 21%, with 30-odd% self-described independents.

The Dems shouldn't delude themselves into thinking that because they control most of the MSM and blogs that they are going to beat a Giuliani or a Fred Thompson in the voting booth.

Daveinboca, you got it. MoveOn is threatening the candidates not to go on Fox or they will not fund them and use their email database against them. That is the democracy the dimmers so believe in. It is a long way to the election, but the dimmer candidates already sold out. I prefer them on the margins anyway. ww

Fox Noise has unabashedly made its news? an outpouring from the sphincter of Republican Party propaganda. Fox Noise makes former Pravda and Izvestia look like beacons of fair and objective reporting.

No question about it, Joseph Goebbles would have loved to have an "independent" agent like Fox when he directed the Ministry of Propaganda. Hell, Goebbles wouldn't have even been needed if Germany had had a network like Fox to do its "fair and balanced" news.

Zell Miller, a lifelong Democrat Senator from Georgia, published a book after his recent retirement from the Senator in which he makes the case that the Democrats are 'a national party no more'. Sal Manilla:

Well Lorie, there is more to news coverage than just Fox News and Rush Limbagh. Every news outlet is biased to some degree, they have chosen to stay away from what networks they know will do a hatchet job on them. I filled out surveys in the 90's supporting the impeachment of Bill Clinton, I even donated over $400.00 to pressure groups to get the impeachment done. I was so afraid of an Al Gore presidency I supported Bush all the way. Until Bush blew it. In retrospect, Clinton was not so bad after all. I kick myself to this day for ever voting for a Bush. Bush has fumbled every aspect of his presidency so bad, I am now thinking of voting for Hillary Clinton. Thats right. If I said this 10 years ago, I would have checked myself into a mental hospital. I have had enough of the abuses of power, abuses of rights, financial mismanagment, cronyism, lying, and deceiving. I wish we had parties that were on an even keel, but we don't. Its one extreme or the other. So its time to swing to the other extreme and try to undue some of the damage. America agrees or they wouldn't have flipped Congress or the Senate into the hands of the Democrats last midterm. For the first time in my life, I'm gonna either vote for Clinton, or the best Democratic front runner there is. If your a Democrat, its smart to stay off Fox. Why go with a loser?

Sal Manilla:

Get this, the War on Terror is a fraud. There are terrorists in the middle east, but they are not doing much. That situation is being exploited by certain western governments, for ill gotten gain. I believe in God wholeheartedly, but the very worst in this country is the religious right. Its as if they are in a trance. They cannot think for themselves, and frequently repeat what they hear on Rush Limbaugh. THERE IS NO WAR ON TERROR. The only ones threatening us are homegrown terrorists. And they are in Washington. You people really need to LEARN about 911. That will tell you everything you need to know. You can start with asking yourselves why WTC 7 collapsed. Minus demolition, there is no reason that building should have collapsed. No reason at all. Before you reject what I am saying, you really need to get factual answers to those questions. Can anyone explain the video footage of the bombed out ruins of one of the WTC towers shortly before it collapsed? Video footage? What footage? You need to ask yourselves why it hasn't been aired on the networks.

And you're going to vote both Clintons back in??? Sal, you have a faulty memory. Go back and look at the dozens of Clinton administration officials that were indicted, went to prison or turned up dead. If Janet Reno hadn't abused the Dept. of Justice into a full time Clinton legal protection team, Al Gore would have gone to prison too.

And after 7 years of the supposably corrupt Bush administration, we've had only one questionable conviction -- Scooter.
