Mary Ann Akers at WaPo's The Sleuth has a copy of Kookcinich's "Dear Colleague" letter:
April 17, 2007
Dear Colleague:This week I intend to introduce Articles of Impeachment with respect to the conduct of Vice President Cheney. Please have your staff contact my office . . . if you would like to receive a confidential copy of the document prior to its introduction in the House.
Sincerely,
/s/
Dennis J. Kucinich
Member of Congress
Kookcinich's office isn't commenting on his letter, which he drafted before the mass murder at VTech. His timing wasn't very good. No one is going to touch this. Not now, and I would bet, not ever. In fact, one Democrat aide quipped to Mary Ann that Kookcinich shouldn't get his hopes up:
But Kucinich shouldn't hold his breath on getting anywhere with his impeachment plan. "We'll see a Kucinich Administration before we'll see a Cheney impeachment," quipped one Democratic aide.

I'm serious, Gephart/Kucinich would have taken Missouri and Ohio in '04, and Gephart could be in Moscow sneering at Ahmadinejad, and Kucinich could be in Paris charming the French into liking Americans again, as we speak. Who could ask for anything more?

Help Kucinich to Impeach Bush
Kucinich says he's ALSO pursuing impeachment of Bush. Well let's help him out. Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Dennis Kucinich's office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).
Kucinich says he is building his case for impeachment, and is working to build the support of his peers in Congress. He says he intends to impeach. He said he needs us to keep building the groundswell of support for impeachment all over the country. He asks that we send him copies of all the resolutions passed in various States, local Legislative Districts, County Districts and of any petitions with signatures, so that he can present them to the floor of the House. He said he felt that our framing the issue of impeachment in terms of the Constitution is a principled choice, and ultimately more effective than just acting on anger. Here's video of Kucinich addressing the impeachment issue:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAIJyKhJhiM
Let's answer Kucinich's call with a petition that has it's precedent in history, and it's legitimacy in the Rules of the House of Representatives.
There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.
That's where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.
You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help Kucinich to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. We're not only having you send them to Dennis now, but also to Impeach for Peace. That way, we can collect them all in one place, and deliver them all simultaneously (with cameras rolling) in July. Be a part of history.

What's laughable, Jodin, is that it matters not how badly the kooks would like to impeach someone, but rather whether there has been an impeachable offense committed. So, gather all of your letters of support and put your bumper stickers on your car if it makes you feel noble, but thankfully we're not (yet) subject to mob rule.
Be a part of history.

Who votes for Kucinich? Good question!
He averages about 1% of the vote in contested primaries, and didn't begin winning delegates in 2004 until after Kerry had already won enough to clinch the nomination. Kucinich ended up with a total of 23 delegates out of over 4300.
His vote total only beat the Margin of Error in the polls in Ohio, his home state, which voted after Kerry had clinched (meaning a vote for Kucinich had no effect on the outcome).
His supporters are the extreme nut cases of the fringe left. They are for idiotic Kucinich proposals like the ban on Space-based Mind Control Rays and the "Department of Peace" nonsense. HEL-LO, Kookies, we have that already. It's called "the State Department." They go around and suck up to every evil dictator in the world already, which is pretty much Kucinich's vision (along with bringing back the Soviet Union, which he misses terribly).

It is definitely time to stand up to this administration. So, I hope Kucinich has a strong case to pursue and a reasonable plan to buid support. Though, I don't doubt this since he is one of the very few candidates that actually has definite plans! To hear the frontrunners "platforms" is a cruel joke on the American people, albeit an all too common one.
Kucinich is the only Democratic candidate that I know of to hold a detailed plan for Iraq, going so far as to draft a bill. Same thing on healthcare too-a bill already introduced in Congress with over 60 Reps. supporting (Edwards is the only other one with any kind of plan here). The problem is that the media, because of their corporate influences (healthcare industry, oil companies etc.) skew the view on this politician to avoid having to actually answer is very rational and compelling views.
If we want to actually reclaim our government it is time to start the support of Kucinich here, as well as any where else we see corruption. No more letting special interests and the corporate media shape the way we think about our country!
Also, Kucinich has a site at www.Kucinich.US. Go here if you really do support this.
