A question of snark

Which would best summarize the Democratic-majority Congress passing the Iraq funding bill with no conditions of withdrawal?

1) "Snatching defeat from the jaws of defeat"
B) "Democrats lose vote to lose"
III) "Democrats fail in attempt to surrender, vow to fight again"

No snark intended. They failed to pass 2006 campaign promises. They will try it again.

Imagine the MSM headines had the Republicans won in 2006 on the issue of lowering taxes, regained the House from years of minority status and controlled the Senate....and then failed to pass their plan? This type of failure would be above the fold newspaper fodder and MSM Nightly News red meat for months.

Oh...the Republicans did do that in 1994, but succeeded in passing their legislation.

Partisan politics will forever be with us, but what we have just witnessed is a Republican President, with extraordinarily low approval ratings, tell the congressional majority to "stick it". And that recently elected Congressional majority can't even summon a majority of their own to reverse this President.

If I were a Dem partisan I would be very worried about the will and courage of my recently elected
warriors who vowed to defeat Bushhitler in the WOT.

This won't happen because the leadership on the Left today has an opinion informed primarily by their knowledge of Vietnam. That is,for example, that the TET offensive was a defeat of the U S forces. They will not let facts get in the way.

Well by the time of Tet, the communist sympathizing liberals had gained positions of influence in the media, education and government weakening America's willingness and ability to defend herself. Do you enjoy supporting the, or were you one of them, people 'directly responsible' for the slaughter of more civilians in Southeast Asia than Hitler and the Nazi in WWII. You can run from it but you can't hide documented history.

I think you might enjoy another little history lesson (real history) about your favorite Isamic terrorists and the lies told by todays democrat leaders and sucked up by you fools. http://www.terrorismawareness.org/know-about-jihad/
Anyone want to count the attacks prior to 9-11, go to it. It's an interesting piece that should be on the front page of every news paper in the country and on every news broadcast, that is if we had any 'news' reporters left.

And the difference, Hugh, is that those GI's were defending our freedom. Bush's GI's are his pawns in his catastrophic fraudulent war of choice which has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do w/ defending our freedom.

Did you see the Intelligence Report released today that predicted just about everything that has happened thus far in Iraq? Funny thing is, the moron Bush had this intelligence 2 months before he elected to send 3400+ Americans to their deaths w/ more now to come.

Bush's GI's are his pawns in his catastrophic fraudulent war of choice which has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do w/ defending our freedom. Read some Churchill, Weider. Everything Bush is doing in this war is based on not bringing this war to our shores...again. Want some reference on Churchill? Dwell on "The Gathering Storm" for a while. Then look up Georges Santanaya's most quoted phrase.
As for your link to The Raw Story, they can heed the same advice.
The giveaway in your post was to call the President a moron....I never agreed with anything Clinton did or did not accomplish but he was not a moron. Morons do not reach the level of the Executive in our country. Serious folks who have a career of accomplishments behind them will grant you that. You are not among those.

Bush is a manipulated moron. Prior to his presidency, his foreign affairs experience was primasrily limited to Chinese carryout when visiting his father in Beijing. Later, as he geared up for the 1st run for president he was spoon-fed foreign affairs by his tutor-marm, Condi because he knew nothing. Any leader who would chose to ensnarl his country in a war like Iraq while he failed to understand anything about the ME is indeed a moron.

As for Churchill, I am quite familiar w/ The Gathering Storm. It is a typical neo-con trick to attempt to equate that work w/ the ME situation and use Churchill as a justification for Bush's fraudulent war. The analogies the neocons pull from TGS and Saddam are non-existent.

Sorry, but you are not permitted to use a Churchillian imprimatur to justify this meocon PNAC misadventure in Iraq.

"BTW Hugh S, just what were the magnicent GW Bush accomplishments that could even begin to merit him worthy of the presidency prior to his appointment as president by SCOTUS in 2000?"

1)Even the NYT agrees the recount was accurate and correct.

As to the Bush resume...

1) Founded, developed and sold (to a publice corporation) a successful energy company in Texas.
2) Led a group of investors in purchasing a failed baseball franchise, turned it around, and sold it for a large profit.
3)Was elected Governor of one of the largest States in the union (that would be Texas, Weider) TWICE. Defeated a Democrat icon (Anne Richards) in the process.

BTW Weider, The Gathering Storm is not a neocon trick; it is the ultimate treatise on countries ignoring threats to their national security.

"The analogies the neocons pull from TGS and Saddam are non-existent"

Let's see:
Saddam/Hitler
Kuwait/Sudetenland
Clinton/Chamberlain
Pelosi,Reid/Chamberlain
German Treaty Violations/ Iranian nuclear program
German Treaty Violations/ Iraqi refusal to cooperate with UN Weapons isnspectors in 1990's

The list goes on.

Shows just how little you know about the politics of the Western World. In those countries that you reference, the conservatives are more nearly to the left of the US Democrats. The rest of the G8 & the EU as well have no major parties, whether dubbed "conservative" in their name or not, that are anyUS where close to the far-right extremism of the Republican Party. To find EU or G8 equivalency to the US Republican party you would have to look for the splinter extreme minor parties that often verge on the advocacy of fascist concepts. They hold minimal numbers of parliamentary seats at most in any govrernment.

Don't hold your breath waiting for these EU "conservatives" to come running to sign on as Bush's latest lap poodle.
