And the best you guys can come up with in response is that some pitiful porn star likes the Clintons?

The Jameson quote came out about two months ago. Vitter is getting his just rewards in the press and public opinion, which has nothing to do with this story. And I know anyone with any brains agrees, no matter what their political convictions.
The funniest thing about Jameson, based on what she said at the time, was that she actually thought Bill Clinton could run for office again. At least she can do one thing well, because thinking isn't one of them.

If Jenna was as smart a businessperson as she claims she would realize that what lead to success of the porn business in the late 1990's was the internet. Porn got to the internet with a money making model well before most other businesses. However, the internet has now become to severely cut into porn profits because there is so much free porn on the internet that fewer people are now willing to pay for it. People will not pay the premium prices that made porn profitable in the past.

Puleeeze Tom - the very posting of the article is as fine an example of hypocrisy as one can find. For years we have been inundated with republicans and conservative talking about being the party of values, the party of family values. It went on and still goes on ad nauseam. They've run elections on the stuff - gay bashing, fear of gays etc. And year after year we discover another upstanding republican politician of "family values" who gets hookers, divorces his wife, cheats on his wife, tells his wife while she's in the hospital he's dumping on her. And on and on.
Yes, hypocrisy exists on both sides. But, I'm sorry, when a post like this thing is put up, well it deserves all the scorn it can get.

It didn't last for long mind you, but for a while Hillary and Chelsea weren't talking to him, the press was against him and cabinet members were still in shock.
Course that was before Flynt was elevated to high status in the party and given the keys to the treasury - the stolen FBI files on Republicans.
So it cannot be said that the First Smoker of the Monica has been anything but loyal in return and the porn industry can truly rejoice in its newfound status. This is just but one more example.
In related news, it has been reported that both Hill and Bill are attending Sunday service with regularity - reformed as they are - and ready again to court the votes of the religious.

WildWillie, the Bible seems to define "sin" with a wide net that defines it as anything that falls short of the glory of God, including prayers that fall short.
Masturbation is not specifically defined as "sin" anywhere in the Bible, and porn is largely a commericially available masturbation aid product according to even an Episcopal Priest who once headed the YMCA's Sex Education Instruction Program in the U.S. and wrote on the subject in books. So in the context of "sin", porn must fall pretty short as any major offense against God if masturbation is not even specifically pointed out as "sin" while glutony(over eating) and other issues are clearly referred to in the Bible as "sin". Even fundamentalists like the hugely overweight, Pastor John Hagee of San Antonio's Cornerstone Church, point out that many Christian fundamentalists won't smoke or dance, but then overeat and fall short of God's glory and commit "sin".
Some like to claim the story of Onan is a Biblical assault on the practice of masturbation. Nonsense. He disobeyed God, by refusing to impregnate his dead brother's wife as ordered by God, and spilled his "seed" on the ground. That's not masturbation at all. That's disobedience to God.
You're right that some Republican lawmakers spent a lot of time worrying about masturbation issues like porn, WildWillie. But should they? Is masturbation an important concern for government or a purely private matter for the individual to decide what's moral for them or not?
Jesus did warn against the nature of "lust" though. So not allowing your lust to control your life is also an important balance as well. Balance seems to be the key as well to living by the spirit of God's Word rather than living by the letter of the law, in which we would all fail.

You have to figure that a lot of the persons in this industry are "rough trade" personalities in order to be paid to do the degrading things that they do for money and the "entertainment" of others. My brother did sit next to a popular Men's magazine nude model and had a great flight where she was a very funny and a charming person. So probably the worst things that you do for money, the rougher the personality. Paul, it is obvious you are a porn supporter. I think it is wrong on many, many levels. It uses the gift of love given by God to be shared in an intimate, caring setting and exposes it for all to see. It debases women for the most part, and she is a child of God. Men oggle and have impure thoughts. They do lust. Some sick individuals cannot control the urges porn brings and then rapes a woman or child. Yeah. It is a regular gift.
Also, to turn away from sin you have to achknowledge the sin. Causing someone to stumble is a sin. Abusing someone is a sin. Having impure or unhealthy thoughts about someone is a sin. Of course fornication is a sin outside matrimony. There is no way you can accept pornography as a wholesome, healthy commodity. ww

As long as she entered into that line of work by her own free will, I don't see what is wrong with it. If you don't approve, do your most effective part to stop porn by not buying any, thus removing the only thing that keeps it going -- profit.
Superdestroyer: The porn business has been in the forefront of EVERY technological improvement. They were the group most responsible for the success of video tape, and their use of VHS over Beta won that format war. And yes, they were early adapters of the internet, which is why you still hear some out-of-touch people saying that "90% of the content on the web is porn" or some such foolishness. Of course now the web is involved in just about all aspects of our lives, but even if we never visit a porn site, we all owe these folks a thank you for kick-starting the internet revolution.
And before anybody accuses me of being a porn freak, no, I don't like it much. The vast majority of it is formulaic and extremely dull. IMHO, once a person takes off their clothes, most of the real eroticism is lost and all you're left with is "the old in-out," as Alex deLarge so famously put it in "A Clockwork Orange."

WildWillie, I simply support the same level of the freedom of expression that most Europeans have and those in Israel have, which is no government censorship at all. The strict wording of our First Amendment should ban all censorship laws for adults. Even if I find something tasteless or offensive personally, then it is not my right to decide what bothers may choose, nor should it be yours.
Your assumption is that sex is ordained by God in marriage. Fine. But this does not address single persons or their sexual needs. Porn no doubt gives them a nonAids sexual outlet that is without the risks of pregnancy, etc. No one ever caught aids from a book or video. Even the staples are safe.
Mantis, some screwball could use any excuse to commit violence against anyone for any reason. Look at that Virginia Tech nut. You can't ban access to all materials or entertainment for 300 million Americans because one mental defective will claim that it moltivated to commit a weird crime, Society can't function like that.
Most adults have viewed sexual material online or elsewhere, and very, very few have ever commited any sex crimes. And that's 10's of millions of persons who have viewed adult material online or elsewhere. So those very few weirdos who claim porn made them do are liars who don't want to take responsibility for their own actions. You can't ban materials because of a small number of mental defectives who claim it made them do something. The Son Of Sam killer claimed his dog told him to kill people.
