Powerline has a perfect example of why so many people are distrustful of the media.
We wrote here about a story in the Chicago Sun-Times by columnist Jennifer Hunter, reporting on a plaintiffs' lawyers convention in Chicago. The five principal Democratic presidential candidates addressed the convention, and Hunter's story was on the lawyers' reaction. Her article was headlined "GOP Lawyer Sold on Dems;" it featured Jim Ronca, a well-known plaintiffs' lawyer from Pennsylvania, who told Hunter that he was a Republican. Hunter breathlessly reported that this "staunch Republican" was so impressed by the Democratic candidates that this year, he would not only vote for a Democrat, but would actually contribute to the Democrat's campaign.Read the entire post to get the reporter's full reaction. Instead of admitting she was lied to and correcting the record, she got indignant and attacked those requesting a retraction.Trouble was, it turned out that Ronca is in fact a long-time Democrat who has contributed mostly, although not quite exclusively, to Democratic candidates for a long time.
So Ronca, a smart lawyer, made a fool of Hunter, a not-so-smart reporter. One might think that this would be grounds for a correction; but not, apparently, at the Sun-Times. Instead, Jennifer Hunter wrote a defiant follow-up column attacking Republicans. No, not Ronca, the fake Republican who lied to her; real Republicans.

Another liberal was caught in an obvious spin. So Adriane tried the liberal tactic of distraction.

Seems like liberals love to promote known liars like Wilson/Plame. Now Hunter will be promoted for her spin. Adriance will do the spinning for her.

That's posted over the door that leads to the studio where every anchor on the 3 major body-count networks does his dirty work.(Okay,CBS too.) It's kinda like, "Win one for the Gipper!", only in leftist speak. You can't blame Miss Hunter if she aspires to walk under such glorious words someday, can you ?
Oh and,you don't even want to know what it says at the exit of the cave Keath Overlord walks out of every day.

Lorie, check out Tom Elia's post here. It seems Ms. Hunter is rather well connected and far from a naive greenhorn.

Yeah well maybe. From your vantage point (acute case of BDS).

By a 39% to 20% margin, American adults believe that the three major broadcast networks deliver news with a bias in favor of liberals. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 25% believe that ABC, CBS, and NBC deliver the news without any bias.
Released: March 14, 2007
Nearly two-thirds of those online respondents who detected bias in the media (64%) said the media leans left, while slightly more than a quarter of respondents (28%) said they see a conservative bias on their TV sets and in their column inches. The survey, which focuses on perceptions of the "old" and "new" media, will be released today at the PoliticsOnline Conference 2007 at GWU.

GW's approval rating is 36%, the democratic congressional leadership approval rating is 14%. So, how do the 14 percenters like being in the historical, mega low bottom of all things political? Way to get your message out.
Of course any liberal reporter will make up sources or lie about sources backgrounds to print a story about a republican. I have seen it go on for years. Only the 14% ers think otherwise. ww

Who need to look at poll numbers?
Look at the viewership of Fox News vs. CNN.
Look at the plummeting subscriptions to the NY Times, LA Times, Boston Globe, and other major papers.
People are turning off the leftymedia. And they have no idea what to do about it.

Thanks WW, I was waiting for some idiot 14 percenter to try to bring up Bush's approval ratings!! Seems the "smart" ones have been staying away from that topic and rightly so, obviously warlspeace isn't in the "smart" group of 14 percenters, which makes him pretty damned stupid.

The odd thing is that the Sun-Times is supposed to be the more conservative of Chicago's major papers.
Of course it was a dead give away that the story was false when she claimed that a suer (or to us the protocol of communism (pc) term: "plaintiff's lawyer") was a Republican. If there ever was such a person he'd be in the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum.
