Ways to Join the Battle Over the War Narrative

From Blackfive:

Notice the uptick in troll activity? Well, that's just the beginning. MoveOn and George Soros and VoteVets and CodePink and the cast of lunatic fringe elements are all trying to get ahead of the testimony from General Petraeus and paint the surge as a loss.

In order to join the fight, Uncle Jimbo and I should be joining up with Veterans for Freedom in Washington DC on September 17th and 18th. And both of us should be at a MAF rally on September 11th here in Chicago. Please consider joining us.

Blackfive lists many other ways to become involved courtesy of Vets for Freedom.

Check out The Victory Caucus to find out more about the "Cost of Defeat" Congressional Call-In Day which is today.

WaPo: "Senior congressional aides said yesterday that the White House has proposed limiting the much-anticipated appearance on Capitol Hill next month of Gen. David H. Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker to a private congressional briefing, suggesting instead that the Bush administration's progress report on the Iraq war should be delivered to Congress by the secretaries of state and defense."

Not only will the Administration write the report, but they wont even let Petraeus or Crocker testify in public.

Already, Lorie is ignoring the fact that the Bush Regime is itself crafting the propaganda for Petraeus" alleged report and planning to limit his exposure to the public.

"Despite Bush's repeated statements that the report will reflect evaluations by Petraeus and Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, administration officials said it would actually be written by the White House, with inputs from officials throughout the government"

Goebbels would have loved the way that BushCo crasfts its lies and then rings the bell to get all the little yapping right-kook-puppies to slaver and salivate as they dutifully & mindlessly gobble its swill.

The media has so far shown absolutely no restraint in broadcasting to the world every bit of information they can get their hands on which gives an advantage to the enemy at a time of war.

All we have to "hide" is that which will help the enemy to change and adapt to our strategies. I'm sorry that some of you have a problem with that. Instead, your automatic assumption is that Bush is evil and everything he does is with evil intent. That, and the fact that any good news is bad news for your cause so you immediately go on the attack and start with your flaming insults and wild assumptions.

P. Bunyan:

I'd like to comment on your use of the term "war supporter", Nogo, which you've applied to those of us who support America's victory over the Islamosfascist terrorists and who support the troops who nobly, courageously fight to bring about that inevitable victory.

Those of you on the left, including the politicians, the press, the educators, bloggers, and blog posters like yourself have tried from the onset to de-legitimize the mission of the United States and our allies in Iraq. You have put all your efforts in to publicizing the victories of the enemy while ignoring (or downplaying and spinning when they couldn't be ignored) the successes of the Allied troops. You efforts have been successful in boosting the moral of the enemy and giving them the will to fight on against impossible odds. You have also been quite successful in breaking down the morale and support of the American public which has been a tremendous aid and encouragement to the enemy.

Had it not been for all the efforts of the left, the situation in Iraq would most likely be considerably better than it is today. It is you leftists, and your support of the enemy, which has caused this to drag on and be a lot more difficult for the US and our allies than it had to be.

So, maybe by supporting American victory (and Iraqi victory for that matter), people like me could be called "war supporters", but you leftists have supported this war a great deal more than I have seen from anyone on the right side of this issue.

It is truly sad, though, which side's victory you chose to support, but you're a fool if you don't recognize that you have supported the war as much, if not more so, than anyone else.

Barney conveniently misses ... (Below threshold)
C-C-G Author Profile Page:

Barney conveniently misses one important point (well, he misses lots of them, but one especially important one here):

The President cannot dictate to Congress whether General Petraeus delivers his report in public session or in private session. That is up to the leaders of Congress to decide... and the last time I checked, that was the Party of the Donkey.

The President can request, but the Dems can deny that request if they wish.

Perhaps they have their own reasons for wanting the report to be delivered in private, and are seeking to disingenuously blame the President for it (which Barney is falling for hook, line, and sinker)?

Reasons like believing that Petraeus' report will be a positive one, which will not sit well with the Party of the Donkey's rabid frothing-at-the-mouth anti-war base?

Of course, I give Barney the benefit of the doubt and presume that the above obvious logic is beyond his mental capacity. It seems kinder than calling him a liar.
