Wizbang is a great blog. I like the different opinions that find their way here and admit that I am conservative. It's entertaining and informative to debate liberals here and at Blue.
Among those that I debate with here often are mantis, langtry and Paul H, Strickmore and ....Lee. They are a credit to this site. I will probably never agree with them, but that's where you learn to hone your argument.

So let's look at that $168,000. Let's say he has an adjusted gross of 120,000. Where does AMT figure in? Uncovered medical expenses like travel, time off, spouse's time off, child care, then ordinary living expenses in one of the most expensive venues in the country.

As to the questions about Tony's pay and finances. He has said he took the job as Press Secretary as long as he could afford to make up the pay cut. Apparently, all along he's been using savings and such to cover the difference between what he was accustomed to living on and what he was making.

In other words, he made a sacrifice, even if only economic, for a period of time to do a job that he felt he could contribute something toward.

When he was first diagnosed with cancer, it would have been the easy thing to just resign and do something less stressful and demanding. But he stayed on. Probably because he thought there were things he still needed to do as WH Press Secretary that weren't yet done.

I know that when he went in there, one of the things he wanted to do was revamp the way the Press Office handled issues. He had a plan and wanted to stay to see it through.

I doubt Barney knows what "AMT" is, or the financial issues involved in living as Tony has to in DC, with children and wife, with cancer, and facing the unknown.

Barney probably thinks AMT is government program for which he can apply.
