First of all, remember that we are never, ever to question their patriotism.
DailyKos diarist boilerman10 has posted a new diary explaining how to build an IED (the actual information on how to make an IED will not be reproduced here):
Now, what is the I.E.D.? Improvised explosive devices of the type generally spoken of in the news stories are usually a charge of RDX or other easy to handle and mold plastic explosive arranged in one of three general ways. As either a bomb proper for explosive effect, perhaps containing scraps of metal for shrapnel effect as well, or as a Claymore type device to spew shrapnel in a specific direction, or as a shaped charge device for highly localized explosive effect against heavy structures, vehicles, or other hard cased target. The so-called "sophisticated" IED the press gets all foamy about is the shaped charge device. Making one of these is so easy a cave man can do it. There are two basic forms: 1, rectagular; and 2, circular. Circular is more common. The rectangular form is sometimes used for explosive cutting of heavy plate steel, or rock slab shearing. It is very effective for linear splitting and cutting. To make one of these quickly...
Now before anyone worries that we are conducting bomb making class for Kossacks please be aware that anyone STUPID enough to try this at home deserves fully what the government will do to them! The diary is illustrative of how simple it is to make horrifying devices it is not for backyard "enthusiasts" nor for any other purpose beyond illustrating the simplicity of IED making!
Yes, he is simply trying to illustrate how easy it is to make the horrifying device, but he urges that no one actually make any. I guess if someone reads the diary who might have been contemplating setting one off, the fact that Boilerman10 said you shouldn't will stop them in their tracks!
He also whines that monitoring Iran is just an excuse for Bush to attack Iran, that innocent country that would never help arm insurgents in Iraq that are fighting our soldiers. Iran would never want to cause harm to us, the United States, the Great Satan!
In any case, this isn't exactly new territory (Bowling for Columbine, anyone?), but all the same, it's usually liberals that don't seem to have a problem with making information like this -- you know, the kind that can cause death, destruction, and mayhem -- more easily available for terrorists and murderers.

Some moron is going to try this at home, blow numerous body-parts off, and then sue Kos. Bad for the kid...good for the country when they arrest Kos and shut down his site.

I went to that site and read what boilermaker had to say. Then I read the comments. Those people simply are not sane. I know in a nation who has the population that we do, it is possible to have a large number of people with mental disabilities, but these folks are fu#king crazy.

Heh. Nice subtle disclaimer. Translated, he's saying (bragging):"You are stupid if you try this, but my posting detailed instructions on how to build homemade bombs is really, really smart!" Perfect example of the abuse of free speech.

Without people of such high moral caliber and unassailable character, our country would, indeed, be in for dark times if they were ever taken away from us. This article is only an explanation of how much they care for their fellow man, and how much they really want our troops home from Iraq, safe and sound. You all just do not understand.

Anyone stupid enough to make a bomb based upon what they have read in a copy of the Anarchist's Cookbook or what they have read over the internet deserves to be a victim of the laws of physics, chemistry, and so forth.
I have never made a bomb. I have never made a black-powder musket. For The Same Reasons. I am not trained, I don't know how wrote the instructions, who hacked the instructions, etc. This is a highly technical subject and should only be essayed by those who have some clue what they are doing, and reading a website or manual is not that!
But if any wanna-be jihadis want to play around with explosives in this manner - with the usual 'inshallah' attitude towards safety protocols - go right ahead, little martyr.

Does the fact that I have made several muzzle loading rifles and pistols mean that I'm a bomb maker? The only thing that has died at the muzzle end of one of them is a deer (several in fact). Guns don't kill people, people kill people, and that applies to bombs also. A tool is simply a tool, a left wing democrat is simply a fool. I know the muzzle loading weapon and bomb concept is the same but I've had no desire to build a bomb and blow my hands off or blind myself. The only thing the idiot at Kos proves is what we already knew. The Kos site is a terrorist site. Time to 'book em Dano'.

And so? The issue is not the number of times it's available but one particular site that published it.
If that site wasn't a continuous example of hate-mongering, conspiracy nuts etc, I doubt many would bat an eye over it.

No scrapiron, it doesn't make you a bombmaker. I used building muzzleloaders as a reference to the type of activity you shouldn't be doing if you don't know what you are doing. Taking the info off the internet (not knowing where it came from) does not count as "knowing what you are doing".

None of this sort of information is hard to get or restricted. It's not rocket science. Go take a look at Delta Press.
Maybe they're actually pointing out the drooling idiots in the media who don't understand how easy these are to make; maybe they're just trying to tweak people, nutty-moonbat fashion. Perhaps a combination of both, but the fact that they printed the info is pretty irrelevant.
I will add, however, that as someone has already pointed out, the Anarchist Cookbook will get you killed.
