OK, "exposing" is a bit strong here. The deviant in question exposes himself on a fairly regular basis; he's just decided to "call me out" on a few things enough times that he needs a thorough smackdown.
Last night, BarneyG2000 worked himself up into a lather and disagreed with my little theory on why TruthOut is having e-mail troubles -- and, at the same time, brought up a few other things I've said that, he suspects, I wish I'd never said.
Jay, what post was it that you said you were glad that 9-11 happened? Why don't you link to it so all your fans can read how I am taking your words out of context? Please include the text follow-up where you wished someone would kill me.
First up, Barney, I made no such post. I made a comment. At least TRY to get the language right.
And as far as the substance of your accusation -- well, it's as empty as Barack Obama's suit.
Here's the statement, in the context of the discussion. The subject, as you'll recall, was how the Palestinian Authority was celebrating the anniversary of 9/11, treating it as a good thing. First, you said:
If Bush didn't f-up the capture of OBL in Tora Bora and then send all our troops to Iraq (Bush: Honestly I don't think too much about him) we wouldn't have to put up with this kind of humiliation.12. Posted by BarneyG2000 | September 17, 2007 7:46 PM
That prompted me to forget the "do not feed the trolls" rule, and I answered:
In one sense, Barney, then I'm glad 9/11 happened. It gave the Palestinians a chance to reveal their true nature.
If it wasn't for 9/11, we'd have to rely on lesser indicators to show what savage assholes they are.
I wish to hell I knew who said it first, but it's so true: "the Palestinians never miss a chance to miss a chance."

The point I was making (and pretty much everyone else but you perceived) was that to link the Palestinians' celebrations to Bin Laden's continuing freedom is absurd. The Palestinians were dancing in the streets on 9/11, and have celebrated it in cartoons ever since -- see here for just some of the proof of that.
Now, as for the second part -- I never threatened to kill you later on. I made a veiled threat to BAN you.
It's called "hyperbole," Barney, and here I used it to show how dumb your argument was."The Palestinians celebrated on 9/11/01 because George Bush would invade and overthrow one of their biggest financial backers a year and a half later."
Paraphrased, of course. But that's what it boils down to.
One of the few silver linings out of attacks like 9/11 is that it lets you find out who your friends are -- and who are not. The average Palestinian was out cheering and celebrating in the streets, and still to this day you can find pro-Bin Laden trinkets and souvenirs for sale -- and selling quite well.
Smarten up even just a smidgen, Barney, and you might be worth keeping. Or, at least, not worth the effort of removing.
J.

Unless you were referring to the "follow-up" as an incident that happened three weeks earlier. In that thread, I said that the idiot over at HuffPo who spelled out a very clear solicitation for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff to commit treason, but tossed in an utterly meaningless disclaimer and, then later, called the whole thing a "satire." You latched on to that worthless disclaimer and CYA "joke" explanation (which came in a day late and a dollar short) as if that absolved the author. So I decided to spell out for you just how hollow that was, with a personal example that I hoped (vainly, it turned out) would enlighten you:
Barney, lemme paraphrase that so you can grasp it:"Now, I'm not advocating violence or murder or something like that, but I think it would be downright spiffy if someone -- say, you over there with the rifle -- were to walk up to BarneyG2000 and blow his head off."
Lewis put up a big disclaimer, then wrote precisely what he was disclaiming. That nullified his little attempt at CYA -- just like my disclaimer above is rendered meaningless by what I wrote after it.
(Note: that was purely for example. I sincerely hope no one would ever take a rifle to Barney's head to blow his brains out. For one, it would be overkill -- his brains are such a small target, a needle would work just as well.)

It's called "parallel construction," Barney. If you're willing to excuse Mr. Lewis spending paragraph after paragraph outlining precisely how he wants General Pace to violate the law, his oath, and the United States Constitution, but excuse him because he said "To be crystal clear - I am NOT advocating or inciting you to undertake any illegal act, insurrection, mutiny, putsch or military coup. You are an honorable patriotic man. I am NOT advocating or inciting you to interfere with any of the civilian duties of the President. That would not be a legal action by you" and, later, saying "it was satire, you ignorant boobs!" Then, when I do precisely the same thing (but considerably briefer and less concerned with high-faluting language), you simply refuse to see the parallel.
By the end of the day, Barney, I'm going to re-evaluate your continued presence here at Wizbang. If you respond in any way that might be considered reasonable, or not at all, I'll stay my hand. But if you do what I fully expect you to do -- wig out and go absolutely bonkers, as is often your wont -- you'll have to take your crazy someplace else. We're all full up with crazy already.
Oh, and one last time, for those who think that the Palestinians haven't been celebrating 9/11 from the instant it happened, rejoicing in the murder of thousands of Americans: here are a few videos from the day it happened: from Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.
Remember that, the next time you hear someone say that the Palestinians deserve our sympathy and support. Remember that well.

By the way..as someone who has been a troll longer than many posters(except maybe mantis) I will give my reasons for posting.
First..three years ago when I first visited and posted as nogo postal...Wizbang tended to be more Libertarian. The subjects were for the most part more diverse.
Second...there are times when posts are borrowed from other places and at times are either hyperbole or ...well lies...
I have at times responded with links debunking both.
Third...Their are many times when the subjects are valid and presented in a manner in which I agree. (Something too often missing from other Republican leaning sites)
What would be a shift is that rather then regurgitating simplistic slogans that are as much of the mindset as our ABC's...
Logical refutations....based on fact...
