An Australian obstetrician and obvious environmentalist wacko is recommending that all parents who have more than two children be required to pay a baby tax to "save the planet." And that's not all. Take a look at what other measures he recommends:
Writing in today's Medical Journal of Australia, Associate Professor Barry Walters said every couple with more than two children should be taxed to pay for enough trees to offset the carbon emissions generated over each child's lifetime.Professor Walters, clinical associate professor of obstetric medicine at the University of Western Australia and the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth, called for condoms and "greenhouse-friendly" services such as sterilisation procedures to earn carbon credits.
And he implied the Federal Government should ditch the $4133 baby bonus and consider population controls like those in China and India.
Professor Walters said the average annual carbon dioxide emission by an Australian individual was about 17 metric tons, including energy use.
"Every newborn baby in Australia represents a potent source of greenhouse gas emissions for an average of 80 years, not simply by breathing but by the profligate consumption of resources typical of our society," he wrote.
"Far from showering financial booty on new mothers and rewarding greenhouse-unfriendly behaviour, a 'baby levy' in the form of a carbon tax should apply, in line with the 'polluter pays' principle."
So, what kind of population controls is this guy recommending? Forced abortions or forced sterilization for parents who fail to adhere to population control regulations? He insists that the earth can't survive if humans continue to procreate at current rates, but he If he really believes population control is the answer to global warming, why don't he and the others with his agenda begin with themselves?

He is simply a copy of the average liberal democrat. Anything that puts a dollar in their pocket should be done, to the people.

Well, based on this statement: "... consider population controls like those in China and India," he favors China's example of killing newborn baby girls.
So "Mr. Moonbat," we all await the birth of your third child to see if you practice what you preach if it's a girl.

It's difficult even to reply to stuff like this. I mean, who could ever imagine, let alone actually say something so preposterous? I was beginning to think that I've been too hard on liberals, and that I should try to temper my criticism. But the truth is that this piece is not unique, and in fact, seems to agree with mainstream liberal thinking. It is difficult to decide whether to feel sorry for these lunatics or to hold them in contempt. On the one hand they are so incredibly stupid and pathetic. Yet on the other they are so obnoxious and arrogant. It makes you want to shake them and slap some sense into them.

We need less people like this. Luckily, if they take their own advice, there will be less of them in the future...

Wow, I thought we had at least a few years before people started openly advocating government coerced sterilization. I knew it was coming, but this is absurd.
