The Grateful Dead is going to reunite for an Obama concert.
The Grateful Dead, the San Francisco cult rock band that has played at political events since the 1960s, will reunite on Monday for the first time in four years to rally support for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, a spokesman said on Friday."They have agreed to reunite for this one-time-only event in order to lend support to Senator Obama leading into the crucial 'Super-Tuesday' series of primaries held on Tuesday, February 5th," the band said in a statement.
Ironic, isn't it, that the Grateful Dead are supporting newcomer Barack Obama when it was the Clintons who spent the sixties as free love hippies.

I bet she never expected back then as she participated in Woodstock and anti-government political rallies that she would eventually become the same kind of establishment that young people would rebel against.

Nor did she expect that she would be forced to "keep the black man down" in order to win the Presidency. As they say, karma really is a bitch.

Too bad you don't know your facts:
"After Oxford, Clinton attended Yale Law School and obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1973.[17] While at Yale, he began dating law student Hillary Rodham who was a year ahead of him. They married in 1975 and their only child, Chelsea, was born in 1980." Source Wiki

Uh, he didn't say they spent the sixties together. They could have been hippies without being in college and before getting together. I'll bet Bill was a free love hippie but I don't think Hillary has ever done anything without calculating the cost.

If you assume that "the sixties" ended in the '60s, Barney has got a point. If you use "the sixties" as shorthand for the time period when people put down orange shag carpet, green linoleum and stank of patchouli ... hell, they're still going on. Just as a more localized phenomenon.

To refute Jay's claim of what people did in the 60s, Barney quotes wiki about what they did in the 70s. Classic!
Just like when he first came to WB and claimed Bubba wasn't listed in any polls in winter of 1991.

Bubba was born in 1946. That means he was 27 when he got his JD. Plenty old enough to have been a hippy or hippy wannabe.
Hillary was born in 47. Both would have been adults in 1965.
Summer of Love was 1967, Woodstock 1969. I don't think anyone, except maybe Barney, needs me to explain the cronology any further.

Yes, I miss Jerry, but life goes on, and the opportunity to listen to incredible music played by the best guys ever is something I won't miss, no matter what. From Ratdog, Phil Lesh & Friends, (who I wish would come to the Northwest) to Dark Star Orchestra, who are carrying the torch, I salute you.
